Fridays are usually a time to go a little further out and try something different. Today we went to lunch at Crispy Catch on Perkins. We had driven past it many times and decided to give it a go. Rather no frills kind of place with an outdoor eating area - even today at 92 F outside, it was pleasant in the shade. We had the catfish tacos - really tasty with the cilantro lime sauce. The hushpuppies had the right amount of crunch and sweetness. Finally, great music playing on the speakers - road trip music from XM radio.

They screwed up our order and when asked about it she told us it was the noise in the food court. It made taco box sound like tackle box. So apparently it’s happened before repeat the order or ask people to speak up. And they screwed the drink order up not once but twice. Never again

So honestly I was so put off by this place because seafood at the mall is like sushi from a gas station but luckily I was feeling dangerous on Friday and wanted the thrill of "is this going to kill me or no" Glad I tried it because this place is actually freaking incredible. SO GOOD AND SO CHEAP. when you open the box- you're not blown away. You're a little put off probably but man- looks are deceiving. The staff was so nice, the food was fresh, and THE BEST boudin balls. I don't know why this place isn't busier because it's hands down the best place to eat in or around the mall. Definitely stopping in any chance I get.

Surprisingly good seafood for a food court location (helps that it's locally-owned). Specializes in fried fish and shrimp, as well as fish tacos. I usually just get the fish, but both that and the shrimp are pretty good and portioned nicely. Employees are friendly, and food is ready at a reasonable pace.One of the more expensive food court restaurants, but worth the money, in all honesty. Not a bad choice if you're just in the mood for some fried fish and don't feel like going to a sit-down place.

While visiting Baton Rouge (from the North East) I happened upon this seafood gem at the Mall. OMGoodness! The catfish & shrimp were delicious, fresh & cooked to order and the staff was professional & friendly! I'd agree that it's the “Seafood Raising Canes†- both are delicious! In the 2 weeks we've been here I've been here 4 times. I'm not big on all the sides so I always “make my own†box full of catfish & shrimp. Wish the a la cart wasn't so expensive. Now if only they had some creamy cheese grits then it would really be on & poppin' for breakfast! I'll definitely be back before heading home. Between this & Raising Cane's which is right next door, I know I've gained some weight during this vacation! 😊

The food is not just REEL good, but it is made REEL fresh as well. While the price is somewhat high for a mall food court restaurant, the quality and portion sizes are very reasonable. Staff is very friendly and accommodating.
I was pleasantly surprised by this delicious seafood place located inside the Mall of Louisiana. We ordered boudin balls, fries, and sweet tea. The boudin balls were crispy and well seasoned with just the right ratio of rice to meat. The fries were light, crispy, and pipping hot. The sweet tea was freshly made and perfectly sweetened.

When I go to the mall, I always try to show this restaurant some love. The fried catfish and shrimp have been seasoned well and cooked perfectly. The fries are always crispy and cooked perfectly. They have even started serving boudin balls; the sample I had today was so good I ordered some with my regular meal. The blueberry lemonade is awesome; it's probably the main reason I go there. If you get a chance, stop by there and try them out.
