As usual everything was great! It's becoming tradition to celebrate birthdays and anniversaries here.
Doe's is always a top tier place! Mary Claire was our server, and she was as excellent as always!
Delicious steaks done exactly as we ordered. Pricey but worth it for the food. Just be sure your are not seated near the serving kitchen because there is a lot of foot traffic and you will see the staff eating and drinking (as they should be allowed to). For some this may be bothersome. For us it meant our server was nearby.
First time wife and I dined there. There was no disappointment whatsoever. Our reservation was timely honored. The staff was polite, engaging, and take care of their customers.
The hostess promptly greeted us and sat us although we were about 10 minutes early for our reservation which was super nice of them because not all restaurants do that. Our server Jenna came by to get our drink orders within a couple minutes of us being sat. When she came back with our waters, she asked if we needed a couple of minutes to which we agreed, but she ended up giving us WAY more than just a couple minutes. We didn't see her for another good 10-15 minutes- wtf. We finally placed our order when she came back and by that time, we decided on a couple glasses of wine. She asked us if he wanted them before or with the steak and we agreed on before. Again, she took FOREVER to bring our wine (25-30 min.) and I seriously wish I was kidding. She brought our side salads before the wine, and when we finally got the wine, the steak came a minute or two after... The slow service from her was quite annoying, but luckily the food was the saving grace. The steak was cooked perfectly, and that along with the sides were all bursting with flavor. Jenna checked on us a lot more after bringing out our mains, of course. Overall we loved the food, but the service was disappointing. Two glasses of wine should NEVER take more than 5 minutes to get to the table.
The best steak I've ever eaten in my life was a Florentine steak in Florence, Italy. But guess what? My husband and I split a 2lb Porterhouse at Doe's and we BOTH LOVED IT. This is the BEST steak in the US! I'm so glad we can now go here and not across the pond to eat a good steak! Great service too and a nice, lively atmosphere. We will be back again and again. Oh, and the tamales are 2 die 4!
Consistently good food and service. A solid choice for dinner with a unique and interesting ambiance.
We lucked up and happened to go during Restaurant Week and thank goodness we had a reservation!! Place was packed and the vibe, service and food was excellent! I had the ribeye which was cooked perfectly and homemade mash potatoes. We had the tamales and chili that was spot on! Our waitress was very attentive , nice and friendly! Highly recommend Doe's!!
Great casual atmosphere. Perfect for a fun relaxing time with family and friends. Great tamales and steak.
I plan on returning! I had the 24oz steak and it was very very good, but I will say the mash potatoes could've been way better. I added the cream of mushroom soup to the mash and it became the perfect pair. The cocktails were very good and the fried shrimp were great. Can't wait to come back

Food and service was very good. It is a very good place to eat. Steaks and hot tamales are excellent.
Best steak in Louisianan I’ve had in years. Won’t be getting steak anywhere else.
