This place was awesome. The waiter was so professional and helpful. His recommendation for the lamb chops was spot on. Some of the best I've ever had. The wine he recommended paired beautifully. The bowtie pasta side dish was great too! Such an elegant atmosphere.

Even if you cannot enjoy the perfect ambience by dining in… I highly recommend getting it to go! The food quality is always top-notch as well as the service. Just pick an item and you will not be disappointed.

I was so disappointed with our experience last night. We went for my husbands 40th birthday with his family. Our server looked like we were an inconvenience for him, just no interest or personality, or any sense of welcome. We ordered pizza for our kids but they were out of dough- on a Friday night before an LSU game. I asked if they could just do a fried chicken cutlet but they said no. And again no real apology or anything just no we don’t have that and can’t do that. The food was fine but man the service was so subpar for such a favorite local restaurant that is supposed to be “nice”. I had high hopes given the good reviews but I won’t return and wouldn’t recommend it for a party greater than 4, and certainly not with your kids.

Definitely overhyped. I feel as if the food was under seasoned and the proportions were small for what you pay for. We ordered the calamari and laurence bread as our appetizers. The laurence bread is the single reason why the food didn't receive one star, it was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside with a nice cheesy crust. The calamari was under seasoned and the breading kept falling off, the side of sauce served with the calamari carried the dish. The calamari would've been leveled up in flavor profile even just a little if some lemon was served with the dish to squeeze on top. For our mains we ordered the oven baked lasagna and shrimp champagne. The lasagna was pretty alright, it had green peas in the filling which was not an unwelcome change but ive had frozen lasagnas that taste the same and are a quarter of the price. The shrimp champagne was bland, it felt like I was just chewing food to chew food. The shrimp was fine and cooked well just..plain. The pasta was alright the sauce did not stick to the pasta at all. The dish could've just used some flavor.

By far the best Italian spots in Baton Rouge, and in the running for best restaurant in BR. Maybe just a tad too dark in there for my liking but not the worst con for a restaurant to have. Would genuinely recommend every single dish there but specifically laurence bread, arancini, and eggplant parm

This place feels like one of those plazas in Italy with their interiors. We started with the Lawrence bread. My date got the veal Parmesan with a side of spaghetti and I got the veal Tomahawk special, which was an absolutely splendid chunk of meat. At the end, I was picking it up and eating the meat off the bone like a true caveman. The bowtie pasta came on the side and was also fantastic. I forgot what the dessert was called, but it was also super good.

Authentic Italian American restaurant with a homey yet upscale vibe. The server was impeccable.
I had the lunch special veal. The spaghetti that accompanied the veal was the star though. I could drink that red sauce. The veal was prepared perfectly, but it lacked flavor.
My daughter's lasagna was delectable as well as the house bread and vinegarette for the salad.
I'd definitely return for a date night.

We had an early reservation and was impressed at opening when there was a line of regulars waiting. We were seated promptly and Michael our waiter was very friendly and well mannered. He told us of the various wines and dishes and we were impressed. We ordered a bottle of wine and it it was very smooth. We started with Marie’s salad. Awesome. The dressing was a special house dressing. We ordered our main entrees. I had the lasagna and my wife had the grilled chicken with smoked Gouda cheese. Both were excellent choices. The red sauce on the lasagna was sweet but not overpowering. If was her birthday and they brought out a slice of cheese with raspberry topping and a candle. Very good. It was our first time there but we will definitely be back. Two thumbs up. 👍 👍
