I like the tacos very much, the flavors are chefs kiss. However, every time I go to govt taco for lunch, I am reminded why I do not visit more frequently. The service is just so slow. During my visit, multiple plates were placed into the warmer but there was no one running the orders out. My order sat under the warmer and it was cold when I received it. This happened the last time I came as well. I thought it was an isolated event but I feel like this is the standard, unfortunately. They also brought out the wrong order to several customers.

Waited 30 minutes + in line then another 30+ for food which was shoved in a bag even though we ordered it to eat there. And it was missing 4 tacos and the chips to go with our 10 dollar guacamole. When I asked to talk to the manager they appeared to be very 420 friendly and unfriendly. They gave me missing tacos in a bag and plate of crumbled chips. When I asked for chips that weren’t crumbled they went in the back for a few minutes and came back with what looked like the same plate of crumbled chips. And when we finally got to eat the tacos were small and very mediocre. I will say though that the food runner and guy cleaning tables were very nice and friendly.

I'm a first timer. I had the steak of the union. The flavors blew my mind. It'll make u throw a steak fajita back cross da border. Thank God I don't have to cross it to get another Government Taco. Cause I Would!!!!.

Thursday all day happy hour. The margaritas were made properly, not with a mix. The taquitos were pretty good. They came with queso. I think I would prefer a salsa dip. The yucca fries were good with a chimichurri sauce. The chimichurri was thick. It had a bite to it like collard greens. Can't beat the happy hour prices. Great cheeky branding. I'm going back. I like to support local.

When my mom and I walked in the girl behind the register hollered at us and we could not understand her. She was gruff and not people person. The tacos were really good. We had the fish and the Philly cheese steak. The atmosphere is ok, it is good for a quick bite.

The food was great, BUT this is not a restaurant I would not want to show up very hungry. Each taco is about $6 and the portions are a little bit small. I will give them the benefit of the doubt that inflation isn't showing signs slowing down and is starting to become more and more of a problem in restaurants.

Not impressed. Flour shell was harder than a corn one would have been. I have been wanting to stop after hearing so much rave about it. So I made a detour today and stopped. I mean it was ok but only ok. 2 of us stood in line for several minutes before anyone even realized we were there. Food came out quick. Place is dark as a dungeon.

The food was great! We got the queso (a bit spicy for kids, but great if you can tolerate a little heat), 5 tacos, and a frozen margarita. All of it was excellent. The bartender could've been more inclined to serve us, but otherwise a great experience.

Skip this place and go to Rock Paper Taco, or any of the other awesome taco places in Baton Rouge instead. The food was ok-ish, but their menu prices do not match what they charge. For us, the final price on the bill was almost 20% more than the prices on the menu. I showed the discrepancy to the manager and he said the menu was wrong. So, keep in mind the price you see isn’t necessarily the price you will pay.

We had the socalism, filibuster, Anthony boudin, and steak of the union tacos. Alongside we had govt cheese as well. The govt cheese is fire. Definitely top notch queso, but it is spicy. Not for kids. The tacos were excellent as were the frozen margaritas. However. The bartender couldn't be bothered to serve me, I ordered 2 margs during happy hour and she asked frozen or shaken. She didn't mention that the shaken are half off during happy hour but the frozen ones are not. I'd have liked them to be half off but I'm not mad because they were fantastic.

Upon entry, GT looked inviting but had an off-putting smell. We looked past that and reviewed the menu. The tacos choices looked inventive and intriguing. After ordering, we headed to the bar and took some time to find someone to help us. After walking to the kitchen, we found someone to help us. After that, almost everyone disappeared. The restaurant was empty. While waiting quite some time for our food, we noticed that tables had not been cleaned. Probably 20 trays we piled on the trash receptical. When we left, we were extremely unimpressed with GT. This place lacked management's direction to service and cleanliness. We felt the food was "meh" at best. How could it be that I had heard what a great place this was? It could be improved upon, but I have my doubts.

If you have a lot of $$$ to spend on tacos this is your place. High dollar tacos and then after we ordered and paid they tell us they are out of sour cream. If you gonna charge $5.00 for one 3" Taco you can't run out of sour cream. A lot of places try this high end dining of simple food... I've had it where it totally worked. Everything has to be on point. This place needs attention to detail. Decent food tho

Saw a commercial for this place and it looked really good. The food was overpriced, and save for the pineapple salsa was hugely underwhelming. The Anthony Boudin: Parts Unknown was especially bad (but wow did it sound good on the menu). The atmosphere was sleepy and dark.I wouldn’t recommend this place.

The atmosphere and music is great! However, there menu on so many levels is misleading. They say margaritas are on happy hour, but it’s only A certain margarita without the s ?. Be mindful and use your good eye; cause the only thing on happy hour is what’s right under the words Happy hour!! Oops! Except for the drinks. Bottom line; ask lots of questions when ordering food and drinks during “HAPPY HOUR”!! Got a whiskey and coke for $8 and was charged an extra $1 for the coke ?. Bartender was personable to her friends who came in; otherwise she was non-communicative. Never acknowledged other guest during their time at the bar unless you called her name. Not impressed after 76.00 for a so called HAPPY HOUR!
