The food is amazing as is the atmosphere. The Hibachi grill is awesome.

A nice succulent meal for the whole family. The sushi was nice and moist but not excessively wet. Delicious!

I have been here many times. It’s my “go to” spot for sushi. Ichiban offers good, fresh sushi for reasonable prices. To me reasonable prices are important today because most places have such high prices. I enjoy their rolls. The service is usually friendly and helpful. The hibachi tables are great too. You don’t have to sit at a hibachi table to order hibachi, but sitting at the hibachi tables ensures you get not only a good meal but also a good show! All in all Ichiban is a great place to stop in Baton Rouge for Japanese food.

Chris was the best hibachi chef we’ve ever had. Great chef and great personality. Instead of the same old routine at hibachi, he made our night memorable and special.

I recently dined at a hibachi grill table and found the experience to be disappointing. While the food and drinks were satisfactory, the service fell short of expectations. I politely informed the server that I preferred my steak cooked medium well, specifying that I did not want any pink in the meat. The server instructed me to communicate this directly to the chef. However, when I relayed my request, the chef rudely responded, “don’t tell me how to do my job.” His tone was unprofessional and did not seem intended as a joke. Additionally, the overall atmosphere felt rushed, as if we were being hurried to leave, which was off-putting. Although the hostesses were welcoming, the rest of the staff could benefit from an attitude check. I will not return as a paying customer.

Service was lacking as they kept forgetting to get our food and drinks.
Atmosphere is sad. A once great restaurant has slipped into disrepair and dirtiness. The restaurant needs an over haul with new couches tables and all. Also needs to be cleaned too to bottom. My wife’s lost here shoe as it stuck to the floor and almost fell.

The food was good. The chef made the experience much better than the overall service. Our server suck. She received too much tip for the poor service. Would I come back nope. It's already been 5yrs since I first came. Dirty utensils. We were rushed to dine even tho we had reservations.

The vegetables were burned and over cooked. The food was too salty and horrible. I had to catch a flight. It took too long to get a response from the manager regarding the food and over cooked vegetables. The manager was rude and abrupt. However the server apologized and was a very kind young man.
