Have tried the new Juban's twice now since the re-opening and re-design. We had brunch there not long after the opening and dinner last night. The re-design is truly a welcome re-fresh with a brightening of the once very dark central dining and bar area and a very neat re-design of the front room with addition of a bar and cool lighting fixtures made from brass horns. Love the new ambience compared to the tired old decor. The menu is also refreshed but with a nod to old favorites like the redfish adrian and hallelujah crab. For dinner we had the crab toast which, while a little awkward to eat, was delicious. Cocktails were served quickly and were well crafted. Uniformed waitstaff were very attentive. Entrees included lobster risotto and filet (medium rare). Both dishes were very good. We preferred the risotto. The steak was perfectly cooked. It came with tricolor lyonnaise potatoes of which i received an extremely skimpy almost non existent portion. Our biggest distraction both times we dined was very loud thumping house music which clashed strongly with the fine dining atmosphere. The music would have been at home in a dance club and was just such an off note. I feel like the management is trying to establish a more energetic vibe but for us it just didn't work. In the end we cut our dinner short and skipped dessert as we tired of the unrelenting loud music. Another off note was the reception at the front of the house. We had a reservation for two at a very slow time. Despite this the three young ladies at the reception desk deliberated for several minutes before seating us. The reception was nonchalant to say the least - a little off-putting. In the end truly a mixed bag. They have a good menu with new offerings and a nod to the past, a solid bar and cocktails, and a beautiful and inviting redesign. Downsides include a young and inexperienced front of house and very loud and off-putting music that detracts from a fine dining atmosphere. If the music is not an issue for you I would still definitely recommend. We will likely not be back as the ambience simply isn't for us. Three stars seems harsh would give 3.5 if that was a possibility.

AVOID if you have any guests with dietary restrictions! Two stars because if you call ahead, the chef will make effots to accommodate---but then whatever thoughtful meal the chef prepares will be ruined by untrained staff putting the forbidden ingredients on as a garnish, even after being reminded of the dietary restriction when ordering. The staff is simply on autopilot and unable to offer individual attention to meals. We had someone who couldn't eat dairy who received a plate of pasta covered in shaved cheese after calling ahead and being careful while ordering. So they had to take it back to recoook the meal, while the rest of the large party ate their already-served meal. Then a new meal was brought out after the rest of the party was about finished, leaving the diner embarrassed at delaying dessert for everyone else. There are other fine dining restaurants that do a much better job accommodating dietary restrictions when asked in advance (The Gregory, Cocha, etc.), where the staff is attentive and careful. Juban's is simply not the place to take such guests--even calling ahead will not ensure a nice meal for everyone.

Birthday dinner for a friend was so much fun in the wine room! However the menu was a bit limited for my taste, most entrees were $30-$60 and sides are all $8. The gumbo was decent, but not a good portion size. I wish they offered better steak options and a creamed spinach. The unseasoned spinach isn't it. Will try again for brunch.

What a super fun & cool place for lunch or Dinner. From the moment you arrive till the minute you exit the building your catered to. Walked in and was Immediately greeted by a friendly and smiling hostess then was seated by another friendly person who upon seated me tell me that I would have two separate servers to serve me. Within less than a minute a server came to my table with ice water and took my beverage order which I ordered a French 75 cocktail, which by the way since it was lunch it was get this a whole quarter. Yep .25 cents, how cool is that and it was full throttle just as if you paid $15. While she was gone to get the cocktail someone brought me fresh bread and butter as he was walking away my beverage server sat my cocktail on the table, and she was fantastic server, she checked on me a few times. My food server came and took my food order. I ordered the cauliflower crab & Brie soup and it was not only presented by yet another person beautifully but it tasted amazing. For my main course I ordered the Fried Soft-shell crab BLT, it was delicious and at the end of the meal my server brought me a big serving of fresh Cotton Candy! I've been here many times but this is the first since they've opened up after Covid and the remodeling and it's just Beautiful inside. So stellar service delicious food beautiful surroundings what else could you want cotton candy to boot it's just a wonderful and fun place so come give them a try.your gonna love Juban's

Fantastic experience in Baton Rouge! The staff are incredible--they know their menu and help guests who might not know what they're craving. We had a great evening with Kobe and Emily, and look forward to returning on our next visit to BR.

Attended an event at Juban's: was so excited as this is a premier restaurant.... stupid me for believing the hype. We were early for our event, so were taken to the bar area. Two drinks and $50 dollars....plus tip. That's disappointment No. 1: a bar scotch and water and one mixed drink in a tall glass--light on the alcohol--sure hope Juban's appreciates that we paid for an entire bottle of cheap scotch for them. Because the drinks sure weren't worth it. Choices of entre were chicken, fish, or pork. I chose pork. LONG after the rest of my table mates had been served and were almost done with their meals, and after 4 entreaties to wait staff regarding the non-appearance of MY supper, a rudesby slapped down a greasy plate in front of me and hissed, "THERE. NOW are you satisfied?!" My plate was stone cold. As another server came by I asked that plate be taken away. By now everyone at the table had eaten....except me. A different server brought another plate and plunked it down in front of me. The food was even colder than the first offering. The server offered to bring yet another plate. I declined. My partner developed food poisoning after we returned home. Although the event was nice--and I can now cross Juban's off my list of future experiences, even if they offered to 'make this right'--there is NO WAY they can make up for the disappointment of last night's non-supper, the discourtesy of not one, but several of their wait staff, and the discomfort of my partner coupled with my fear and anxiety over the sudden illness of my loved one. (Yes, it WAS food poisoning: I have the training and experience to recognize it.) If you have money to burn, I suggest going to any one of the other restaurants on Perkins or any where else in Baton Rouge.

We had dinner at Juban's with family while visiting Baton Rouge. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. One of our party was late so we had drinks and appetizers while we waited. The Boudin Dip was excellent and well received. The wait staff were good and did not pester us, they simply let us enjoy the night until our final guest arrived. The menu has a great mix of beef, pork, chicken, veg and seafood options. We had the beef filets, redfish and the grouper, sides included tarter mashed potatoes, lyonnaise potatoes, creole meuniere and beurre blanc. Everyone enjoyed the meal and a great dinning experience.

What a beautiful restaurant, the decor is very nice and much variety. This was a business dinner for two people. I had the pork ribeye it was outstanding. Many good choices on the menu, from seafood to steak. Don’t miss Juban’s for your next special dinner.

I really enjoyed Saturday Brunch and the live jazz band! I was a little disappointed in the Birdie glass. It was extremely small.

Such a beautiful surprise walking into the new renovated restaurant. The staff is friendly and always on point. A manager is consistently walking around checking on guests and that makes experience even better. I love the new menu options and the gorgeous decor. The bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly and they always remember us each time we come back. Love this place for a casual cocktail or a birthday brunch. Will definitely be a regular customer.

Our niece and her husband arranged a special 70th birthday dinner for me at Jubans at 6:00 on a Saturday night. My niece requested a particular table in the jazz room. She made the reservation two weeks and advance and confirmed it in person with the staff during the lunch hour four days before the dinner. When we arrived at the restaurant, the only table occupied in the jazz room was the one my niece had requested. My niece was embarrassed and rightfully upset. Management could not move the people already seated and were not very helpful with regard to handling the situation. So our dinner did not start out on a pleasant note. The food and service from the wait staff, however, was excellent. We started with cauliflower, crab, brie cheese soup, fried oyster Rockefeller, and corn arancini. As entrees, we had a grouper special with a beurre blanc sauce served over mashed potatoes, redfish Adrian, and Ora King Salmon. For dessert, we shared a portion of chevre cheesecake. All of the food was perfectly cooked, and beautifully presented. The only problem was with the reservation; which was a big issue.

I visited here on my last night in Baton Rouge. High quality food and perfect customer service. I've never had a ribeye steak that amazing. The most amazing dinning experience.

Visited for a date night! Beautiful decor! Friendly and professional staff. I had reservations booked through open table and was seated promptly. We had a cute table for two in the back section. The waiter started off by bringing us hot towels to wipe our hands which I thought was a nice touch. We had a drink server and food server as on the level of some other upscale restaurants I've visited. We ordered the fried oyster Rockefeller appetizer and Boudin dip appetizer. We didn't really care for either. Now our entrees we're delicious! We both got the Hallelujah Crab. This was fantastic! Hot and fresh! Stuffed with seafood! It was on a bed of mash potatoes that were just okay. I would definitely return for the crab alone. We finished with a nice slice of praline bread pudding which was tasty. Our server brought us complimentary cotton candy as well. Our check was delivered in a cute envelope. This is a place I will definitely return.
