LA CHILANGA Taco House

I am a fan of la chilanga. Went on a Friday night 3/14 for dinner, the doors were locked, no one in sight. This was upsetting as I was looking forward to eating there.

Please update the hours you open, I drove 30 minutes just to get there and it was closed.

Been here a few times and the food and service had always been good. Today I got the enchiladas suizas which tasted amazing and a long island but I think they may need to clean out their alcohol bottles as there was a nat in my drink. I also ordered the queso dip but it was really watery unfortunately and tasted like Mac n cheese instead of queso. Other than that, was ok.

The service there does not work

Been twice. First time was by luck on Friday night of LSU-Ole Miss game weekend when we couldn't find a table for 8-people anywhere else. We sat outside and had great food, great margaritas, great service and a really nice time. Second time we made reservations, just two couples. Sat inside and had same great experience. Hope they are able to make it in the challenging restaurant business. Really nice people with an authentic Mexican restaurnt and good food.

This place is genuinely horrible and disgusting. The service was more than horrible. Our waitress was so rude to us the whole entire night, and even stated that she was giving us plastic utensils so they didn’t have to wash the dishes. She also asked me if I was done my margarita which I clearly wasn’t so she could have the glass back because they needed it back. The food was also horrible. Do not ever go here. It is also so overpriced. This was my second time here and both times have been HORRIBLE. The music also blasts so you can barely hear yourself think. Each woman staff member was rude and disrespectful.

The food is always good, however we went tonight and Jeimy was our server. I didn’t even enjoy my food because of her attitude. She was so rude and made us feel unwelcome in the restaurant. They messed my order up (which isn’t a big deal, things happen, I get it). But, rudely told me it was my fault. When I asked for a Togo box (bc the food was really good, per usual) she rolled her eyes and when leaving I told her thank you and she rolled them again.

It's never the servers fault. The complimentary salsa and chips tasted like warm tomato soup and cold chips. We gave it the benefit of the doubt because salsa doesn't ALWAYS mean crap mexican food. But then came the white cheese queso. Chunky, bland, more cold chips..embarrassing. We ended up leaving after the appetizer, tipped our waitress well because it wasn't her fault, and went somewhere else.

I've visited this restaurant before and had a good experience with the food. However, this time I ordered the piña loca, and I was surprised to find it contained cut-up hot dogs, which the menu did not mention. Additionally, our server was quite rude and definitely inattentive. It would also be helpful if the menu clearly stated that gratuity is always added to the bill, as it can feel unexpected and targeted otherwise. Overall bad experience this time.

This is the second time I ordered steak nachos and they added all the ingredients on top so the beans had some of the tortillas soggy. At least the last time I wasn’t missing the ingredients. This time they were missing guacamole and queso and when I called to tell them the lady said they had new people and there is nothing she can do and hung up in my face. I will never order from here again and wouldn’t recommend them to anyone. It’s one thing to mess up my food but then be rude about is absolutely unacceptable.

Quesabirria tacos are my favorite. Have to come in once a month for craving. Husband had Monterrey tacos ( hope I got this close enough to the menu name). He said they were a sound"4" on a one the 5 rating. Tbf, he never gives a 5. Jarritos locos cocktails made the meal perfect.
