Great little coffee place close to LSU. Very good pastries and friendly staff. Parking can be a bit limited but there's always a spot if you go towards I-10.

Horrible customer service.
Great espresso and lots of baked goods, enough for a quick bite. They get through a line pretty quick too. Lots of space to work, just might be a little noisy.

This placed was packed. The panini I ordered was good, they were out of the loaded grits. I would go back but I definitely would get it to go. It's very busy.

I've been here countless times for remote work. Both the inside and outside have been newly remodeled, and the atmosphere and style is cozy and very nicely designed. They have a sick outdoor courtyard that is freshly remodeled. They also have two big communal tables inside, so if you bring a big group when it's not too busy, you may be able to get one of them. The workers here are the sweetest people, and the service has always been great. As far as coffee shop pastries go, the pastries here are some of the best, if not the best, in Baton Rouge. Their homemade pop-tarts are a MUST-ORDER ITEM.. they will change the trajectory of your life!!! Their savory food items are also homemade, but they need some tweaking. All of the savory sandwiches/panini I've tried have an element of sweetness, which is weird. I wish they were saltier and less sweet, especially for anything that has egg. The grits bowl is VERY good, but I am personally freaked out by the amount of butter they put in the grits. We all know that butter makes grits taste great, but the grits at Magpie take this way way too far. I think it would be awesome if they made them with less butter, but then add the option to get more butter on the side for people who want more.
Unfortunately it would be unfair for me to comment on their coffee because I don't even like coffee. Anyway, this place is AMAZING and I highly recommend it.

Food and coffee were very mediocre. $20 for a coffee and a small, flavorless sandwich. Employees don’t act like your usual coffee shop employees and don’t interact much with customers. Nice place to study in a good location but wouldn’t recommend coffee or food.

At 9:45 am on a Sunday, they had already run out of the vegan breakfast sandwich. This indicates that they don’t stock those nearly well enough, as the restaurant wasn’t due to close until 6 pm that day.
If you’re looking to grab Matcha, this place is not for you, the Matcha tasted like milk with no flavor at all. Super friendly service and they have a lot of other great options, but from my experience, I would not come back for Matcha.

I used to love going here for breakfast a few months ago now it seems like the online order menu is never updated and no one ever answers the phone ! I can't even ask a question . If I need to I have to go inside and wait in line and I'll be wasting my time !

I had a doordash to pick up today. The customers seemed happy so i guess the dfood taste great. once I got to the Register the workers didn't speak ,didn't smile and when I told them who I was picking up for one of the ladies Said oh the order is not ready go stand over there. Did not like the attitude & very snobbish so I just canceled the order.

Jumped off the interstate to grab a coffee and found this cafe. As Australians travelling in the US we have struggled to find coffee similar to what we are use to in Australia. But this cafe hit the spot. It was clean and the staff helpful and friendly. It was a popular little spot - full of what looked to be college students.
