This cafe is pretty good. There isn’t a lot of food options here that catches my eye, but the coffee is good along with the service for the most part. I think this cafe has a really nice atmosphere though. Overall if you’re looking for a cafe that isn’t too expensive and just go somewhere to get out of the house for a little bit I can recommend this place for you.

If you are looking for a place to meet with friends in Baton Rouge, this is where you need to go! Fantastic atmosphere for a coffee shop, really tasty food and breakfast, and they always set me up real nice... iced lavender latte!
The vibes, coffee, and service are awesome! I have had an iced coffee and an iced matcha, and both were delicious! They have outdoor and indoor seating with a good amount of space. They have a variety of sandwiches and pastries along with their specialty drinks. Also, they sell cute little plants just right inside! It is a perfect place to just study or grab a quick coffee. I will definitely be returning to Magpie Cafe!

Pumpkin croissant was a 5! SO GOOD!Paninis were only okay. The flavor of the one with tomato jam was really good, but neither had enough filling. The bread extended way beyond the egg rectangle.Lavender latte had a lovely flavor. We also got the Roosevelt, which was only okay imo. I would go back but would try other things. Friendly and helpful staff.

This coffee shop offers many options of pastries which is fun. When you don’t see the wrap around the pastries, you know they woke up early to bake all of them fresh. However, i would carefully make the selection since some of them are very experimental. My cappuccino was muah muah chef’s kiss. I honestly don’t understand how coffee shopes specifically in baton rouge all make unforgettable deep and good cappuccino which jjust right amount of foam. so deep and rich. The cappuccino from magpie, city roots, reve, lighthouse easily wins over half of the coffee shops in Austin. A few downsides of the coffeeshop is that it’s hard to find plugs. I like working on the big desks to get a bit messy and spread my pens and papers around me but, i couldn’t find plugs near the big tables they have. It seemed like most of the people visit with their friends to hang and talk.Parking: It’s a shared parking with other restaurant so they are a bit competitive during the busy hours.
