Ok as always this is from a basic college kid perspective. Let me start by saying WOW!! I will admit I wasn't pro Newk's for almost 3 years. But I took the big leap and tried it.... y'all will not be disappointed. I had the Turkey Avocado which my favorite part was that it was hot. Everything from the bread to the turkey meat was hot...... amazing. Definitely try this place but don't tell everyone because the atmosphere is very low key which I LOVE.

The outside of it is kind of plain. When you first walk in, it's similar to a Panera Bread. There's a large menu to the right that points out vegetarian meals as well as healthier options. You can choose from various pizzas (including cauliflower crust), soups, salads, sandwiches, and deserts. I got the Farmer's Market sandwich and honestly it was one of the best things I've ever eaten. It was a vegetarian sandwich that didn't feel like it was missing something. In other words, it wasn't noticeably vegetarian. There was also what I presume was a salad bar as well as a drink station. The only downside to the experience was the decore which I found lacking. It was quite dark inside due to the black ceilings and subpar natural light. The design of the tables and chairs looked like an Olive Garden that hadn't been updated in 15 years. The bathroom was very clean however. If you only care about food, Newk's is one of the greatest little-bit-of-everything eatery's I've been to.

Generally good food, generally good service too. I do really love their Newks Club sandwhich! Their honey mustard pulls it all together.

Newk's on State Street is not ready for my business. If its not one fail its another. "Our power's out, we can't sell anything but salads" "Can't order online because you don't have $15 of food." "Oh, DoorDash didn't deliver? We can't do anything about that." Then why bother having a website? I'll take my business elsewhere...

Always a good stop for lunch when we are in town for LSU events. Creative, fresh, just always a positive option!

I ate Newk's religiously before I moved to Baton Rouge, so I decided to order a pizza from this location. I got it delivered, as I have infinite times from another location. When I picked up my slice of pizza, it appeared to be stuck. Then I noticed that there wasn't really any crust in the middle. The toppings were all in the center, none on the edges, the crust was beyond paper thin, so the toppings basically disintegrated the crust in the center, and I was just left with a wet pile of cheese. I asked for extra basil ,and apparently that means an entire handful because my pizza had an obscene amount. Overall, everything was just a mess. I only gave 2 stars because the toppings still taste good.

Cheap eats. Good eats. Salads, sandwiches, and soups. HEARTY portions. Pizza. Simple food. Simply made and well made. Kitchen is IMMACULATE which puts them in the "godliness" category in my book. If you need to change the oil after indulging in Louisianna cuisine, come on over and clean the pipes. Plenty healthy BUT delicious options - shareable and at prices that won't send you into bankruptcy.
