I arrived at Parrain's on a Saturday at 5:45 pm . At 8:00pm we were still not served . Tables around us were served before us . We arrived to the area first .

In the last 6 months this place has gone down. Cold and old burnt food. I had my food delivered due to being in a hotel I asked for tarter sauce . didn't get that no forks to eat the food with. when I open up the box with food. the stuffed shrimp weren't burnt and soft like it had been sitting there for a while. This is not the first time it's been totally disappointing.

Our friends from Baton Rouge brought us an Australian couple to Parrain for some authentic Cajun seafood. I'd been recommended to try catfish and it did not disappoint. So fresh and tasty, accompanied with shrimp, that was also crispy and fried to perfection. My husband had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp, but was unsure of the spicyness of the sauce, so a sample was brought out for him to try before he ordered, he said it was delicious.

ONLY based on service. I went there tonight, a Tuesday, and the service was awful. I asked a french 75 w NO gin, blanco tequila instead. The waitress only came back to ask if we were ok w prosecco vs champagne. We were fine w that substitution. We get the receipt and we were charged $11 for "botanist"???? And $8.50 for a french 75. Turns out we had gin the whole night w prosecco vs house champagne w blanco tequila. Now you know alcohol has different effects on people...the manager kept making excuses for this alcohol mistake as well as the bill. She took no ownership over the whole ordeal. If you plan on going to Parrains, please go on the weekend, bc the week day shift is insane and inconsiderate of the customers well-being.

Good, authentic creole cuisine in wonderful locals' restaurant. This place is a local favorite and we are so happy to have found it! No fuss casual with classic Bayou flair. We had the Boudin balls, stuffed mushrooms, gumbo, dirty rice, and the fried seafood platter. We hurt ourselves. Good food. Give it try, you will enjoy it!

I could not objectively provide a rating because we ordered takeout and thus did not experience the restaurant. We ordered on a Friday evening, and it was packed, which is a good indication. We ordered crawfish etoufee, and I was not impressed. I'll need to experience something else before providing a "real" rating. I thought it was pricey.

The seafood dishes were tasty. The service was okay. We ordered bread pudding to go. It was very cold, not the traditional bread pudding I've had before elsewhere, and it took over 15 minutes to get it after we were done with our meal. The bread "roll/stick" provided with the meal had a rubbery texture like it was reheated and not fresh.

Parrains has been my favorite Louisiana restaurant since I could remember. The food is always fresh and tastes amazing. My wife and I have never ordered something here we didn’t like. The staff is always so kind and helpful. Very pleasant experience all around. I love the seafood platters

Crab bisque was good with substantial amount of crab and corn. Eggplant ponchetrain had quite salty breading, couldn't really taste the eggplant, with sauce, crab, etc. Crawfish etoufee was decent but way too much rice. Service was awesome, and dog friendly patio (and staff) was a bonus.

Great food flavor, temperature, and authenticity. Had a few bits of crab shell in my meal, but not really a big deal. I'd definitely recommend.

I had the New Orleans BBQ shrimp. Don't be fooled it is not a real barbecue. It is a rue that is outstanding and I would highly suggest anyone try it.
