This place can do no wrong in my book. If they ever close, I will honestly cry. The chicken parm will give u reason for living. The veggie lasagna also top notch. Please support this place, even if occasionally the service is lacking, they make up for it x1000000 w the incredible and authentic flavors & atmosphere!!!

Was told to go try the best veal parm in the city and was very disappointed by the burnt, salty sauce. The atmosphere and service were the best things and I would definitely not recommend it to anyone.

My two stars are for the fact that it says you’re open when you’re actually not open. Made a trip only to get there and turn around. Although I love their food.

Terrible management and woefully unprepared for a Valentine's Day rush. I LOVE Pinetta's food and it's one of our go-to spots for a casual date night, but they simply cannot handle more than three or four tables at a time in their restaurant. The two (!) servers were running wild trying to keep up while the owner (?) simply stood by and watched, blissfully unaware of the chaos ensuing around her. I want nothing more than for Pinetta's to succeed and to be around for generations to come, but that's not going to happen until they clear the dead weight and bring on some real restaurant talent to run the front of house.

In my top 5 BR restaurants without a doubt :) the lady explained they haven't changed their menu in many years (i don't want to put the wrong number because I don't remember but it was an exorbitant quantity). I can see why they haven't had the need to do so!

The online menu is inaccurate, and the owner refuses to make a current menu available. So if you are picking up for a group, bring a lot of extra money (business lunch nightmare). The food is still fantastic and worth the effort, no matter why you are there.

Very Very dark. Need to use light on phone to read menu. Small venue. Only one staff member who greeted, sat you, waited, served and I'll bet bussed the tables. Service was slow. Food was average.

LOVE this place! It is my go-to for Italian food. I highly recommend their lasagna. I order it every time I go.

A small, very dark and dirty restaurant. Could not see the menu it was so dark! Once our eyes adjusted, we began to see just how filthy and unkept things were. A lot of gunk/lint hanging off the wall fixtures; floors were dirty, dead flowers in wine bottles on each table, etc. ~. I wanted to leave, but my husband said it would be rude…..so we endured! ~ Service was ridiculously slow. 15-20 minutes before they took our order THEN waited over an hour for our entree to appear. (Lasagna and Chicken Parmesan) Way too spicy and very salty. Not very good at all. So disappointed but at this point, not a surprise. Took far too long to get the waitress to bring us our bill. How is this place even open for business? So many great restaurants around Baton Rouge. We will try one of them next time.

Once had this as a five star but that was a loooong time ago when I imagined the food tasted better. The red sauce is still out of this world but the spaghetti noodles weren't that different from a particular store-bought brand (Luxury?) which I could easily make at home, and with MUCH less salt. Something also wasn't quite right with the meatballs. Texture? Flavor? Can't quite figure it out. Still love the ambiance but I also went there a lot for the German beer drinking and merrymaking music they'd play over the speakers. Now it's a local radio station playing some genre I don't care for. Service is excellent, red sauce is excellent, ambiance is excellent. Outside of that just three stars. Also, the owner apparently still takes the front parking space closest to the door - a no-no in my book.

I waited 3 weeks to write this because I hate to say anything negative about this belove Baton Rouge restaurant, but the hour wait I experienced on a recent Saturday night, waiting to spend money and without being offered a drink, is ridiculous and offensive. There is a cute little bar in the back that should be open, but it's cluttered with junk, and which if open would allow people to have a drink while they wait, I won't be back until that bar opens. Also, it doesn't help that there is no handicap parking and the owner parks her Mercades right next to the front door, at the spot that should be reserved for handicap persons, or at least for paying customers, if she cared. Not a good look.

It has gone from one of my favorites to poor service and declining food taste and quality. I am 50 years old and have been going here since I was a child with my parents. Last night they had one waitress (the one we usually get) handling the entire restaurant. She is never very friendly and "it's her way or the highway". Lately, even when the owner is there she just hides behind the and bar never pitches in when the waitress is swamped. The waitress is not very professional and always blames the owner for any issue that arise. We had to ask for our bread order after 45 minutes of not seeing it, had to request more wine, my food was cold when it arrived, etc. I wish they would sell this to someone willing to bring back the quality, personality and friendliness of the original owners. I'm going to give them one more chance, mainly because they have the best red-sauce recipe on the planet...passed down from the original owner.
