Rice and Roux is one of our favorite places for jambalaya and gumbo. These dishes have lots of meat and flavor. The meals are very reasonably priced and the service is fast. They truly appreciate their customers and it shows in their friendly attitude.

A nugget! We ate in this Cajun specialty restaurant (gumbo and jambalaya) and we were delighted! The service was very cheerful and friendly, the place was very clean and well kept, the quality of the food was excellent at all levels and the generosity with the portions that we had to bring back as they were so plentiful! All this at a really reasonable price for local, authentic and popular cuisine. We loved it and we will definitely come back! I highly recommend it to anyone who wants to eat a real Cajun dish, with flavor, generous on the plate and at a low price! In short, exceptional ?

Was extremely disappointed. Gumbo was practically thin gravy with sausages and huge pieces of chicken, not shredded. Potato salad was nothing more than mashed potatoes. Lacked flavor and seasonings. For the amount spent here, I could purchased ingredients, having made my own Gumbo for my family. With it being my first time, it will unfortunately be the last. Had high hopes, but this just did not make the cut.

Tonight’s fried fish was soggy. Potato salad was runny, almost liquid in consistency. Just not a good meal. Lee drive store.

This was my second time at rice and roux. First time I went, I tried the pastalaya, jambalaya, and boudin. I didn't care much for the jambalaya. Personally, feel like I've had better w/ zataran's jambalaya mix. I wouldn't get it again. Pastalaya was pretty good though! Not amazing or anything, but it was good, and I haven't had many variations of pastalaya to compare it to, so I was satisfied w it. I would order that again. Boudin was good. I'm not a big boudin person, so again, I don't have much to compare it to, but I thought it was good. I think I remember it being sufficiently spicy. Love that they have a drive thru. I got the gumbo this time bc I was craving gumbo but not feeling well didn't feel like cooking or going inside a restaurant to pick up. I thought it was pretty good for a drive thru. Decent amount of meat, and was a good portion for the price, and pretty tasty! Would come back if I were in a similar situation and craving gumbo (which does tend to happen often, so will most likely be back in the next couple months). Every time I've been here the workers are always super friendly and have always gotten my order right. So, good service, I'd say!

Ok, it's fast food but executed very well! The staff was so friendly and let us sample a few things prior to making our order. They explained the items to us and made our experience fantastic! The food was on par with the cost, and we left, full and happy !
Never had a bad experience. Every time I travel to Baton Rouge my family and I eat at least 2-3 meals from here !!!
