I received a $20 off coupon on Facebook, so my husband and I decided to give this place a try. We went on a Tuesday night at 6:30 pm, and we were the only table there. A little awkward, but no biggie, the music was great. We were told to sit wherever we wanted. We ordered Crispy Wontons for an appetizer, and 3 sushi rolls to share. We got everything at once and the server said someone was training, that’s why the app took awhile. The Sweet Home Alabama roll was our favorite and absolutely worth coming back for, and I loved the wontons too. We ended up paying $20 with the discount for everything, and took leftovers home. Not the best sushi I’ve ever had, but I’ll definitely come back if I’m in the area.
I ordered a steak and shrimp hibachi, to go, my rice is plan, my steak was over cook, my veggies were hard, not cook at all, overall a bad experience, I’m come back later in the week to see if anything changes
Eat here! There are three things that stand out here. 1) The sushi rolls are wonderful, tasty, and fresh. 2) The ambiance is great. Who doesn't love rock music from the 80s/90s along with the theme to match? 3) The people who work there are great. I chatted with Renara (hope I spelled it right) for a good bit and her personality is wonderful. It shines alongside the others who work there with great personalities as well.
My date chose Rock N Roll Sushi from the choices I gave him from this years Best of 225. I was skeptical based off the recent reviews but I must say, glad I kept my mouth closed and decided to see what the 9% that said this was one of the best was talking about. The waitress and bar tenders was awesome. Restaurant had good energy. If we could have requested songs that would have made it top tier. Our waitress assisted me with making my decision and I must say the one she suggested (VIP Roll) was on the level of Kirins in Hammond Louisiana (Kirins is the best IMO so to be on that level is a compliment)! We didn't realize the restaurant was closing within an hour of our arrival. I love/appreciate them patiently waiting for us to depart (we noticed how they were patiently waiting and googled their hours) so basically this was one of those dates where we "closed the restaurant down". I will be back!Note: My date has the Thriller, which was really good too.
The service was awful, the staff was rude, and I was told that both people at a table have to be 21 in order for 1 person to order a drink which is absolutely incorrect. Don’t waste your time here. My order wasn’t taken until 25 minutes after I sat down and I was then told I couldn’t have a drink menu despite being of age. I left without ordering anything.
They didn't have enough employees working. Tables hadn't been cleared. We were ignored when we came in. Then we took a seat outside and he came out to tell us that it would be 45 minutes before we would get our food. We left...I will go back again and give them another chance because the service in the past has been good.
Dined in with a friend. We were advised that if we were ordering from the the restaurant week menu that the wait for our food would be 30-40 minutes but that same wait did not apply to regular priced menu items. Reluctant we ordered from the restaurant week menu. After about an hour my friends appetizer came to the table, 15 minutes later her entree came to the table. I never received any of the food I ordered. The server never noticed I didn't receive anything until I told her to cancel the order. This place has potential to be a great establishment it lacks management. The manager never came to the table to address my concernsand no one tried to rectify the situation.
We arrived at 6:42, and there were 3 other tables (all 2 tops) there that already had food, drinks, and were closing out. Yet, we still waited 21 minutes before my boyfriend went up and asked for waters. This entire time, the server (Asher) was staring at the bar wall or fiddling around behind the bar. So I don’t really understand the wait. He had a terrible attitude the entire time. Then, we got our food and one of my friends received the wrong food. But we had already waited so long, so we dealt with it. Then we waited again for him to finally come close us out. Then to top this all off, he added an auto gratuity to a 4 top - which I have NEVER heard of.All in all, I feel I would have gotten better service at McDonalds. I’m not typically the type to leave bad reviews, but this was ridiculous.
I ordered a $15 sushi roll to go. I was not knit person in the restaurant and there were other Togo orders before mine, so the wait was reasonable. I gathered my food and left the restaurant. When I got home in Denham Spring, low and behold the only thing I had to go with my sushi was 9 packets of soy sauce. There was no wasabi or ginger. When I phoned in the waitress said oh we only give that with Togo orders upon request. I told her that I didn’t see that posted anywhere and she apologized. This is unacceptable. If she knew the normal accoutrements we’re not given with Togo orders then she should have asked if I wanted them. She offered for me to come back to get them but by then my current roll was cold. I told her I wanted to come and get a new roll so I could enjoy my food the way it was intended. She asked me what I had and told me it would be $15.00 (not exactly but you get it). A sushi roll doesn’t cost much so it’s not the food that customers pay for but he service. This service is horrible.
Slow service, very bland food, and higher prices than surrounding sushi places make this a no return for me. This team needs a bigger staff, and to focus on the taste and quality of their food. Sorry guys, you did not win a returning client today. The only neat part about this restaurant was the wall art.

EDIT:Yes, I understand that’s how the discount works now. The problem was that I called ahead of time to find out the rules and limitations for the discount, and the person I spoke with did not tell me that a minimum amount must be spent outside of $20.It was stated as “$20 off of your order if you spend more than $20 or 50% off if you don’t spend $20. And you must dine in.” It was miscommunicated which is what I was unhappy about.Mediocre food, discount was not applied as initially explained, long wait time (30-45 minutes with two other customers) and tried to take my change when I paid cash.
I have been coming here since it’s opening. The service has been lacking for its entirety. The only thing that keeps me coming back is the 50% off Facebook deal. Be prepared to sit a hair pulling amount of time. There was one server here on a Saturday night, he did the best he could under the circumstance. The food is consistently mediocre. I thought I would give it one more try, but was disappointed yet again. 3 stars is fair for mediocre service and food. There are other great sushi restaurants in Baton Rouge worth going to. Leave this one off your list.
I am an lsu student and come here ALL the time! Great location for students and really good sushi and service. Jade (our server) was amazing and made sure everything was perfect ! She was so accommodating as well
Good thing I have pictures to back up everything I’m about to say. First things first, RUDE is an understatement. The staff if so rude and completely unprofessional. I ordered to-go over the phone, they said it would be 45 min to an hour. I ordered anyway despite the long wait. Got there && they were rude and STILL did not have my order together. They only gave me my 3 rolls, not my appetizer (boom boom shrimp). I went back in side to tell them they forgot my shrimp 3 workers looked at me like I was crazy. I said “do y’all want me to go get the whole bag and bring it back in to SHOW y’all?” They said “no, we’ll have it to you in a min” I asked how long it would take , they said 7 minutes to cook. Already aggravated I went sit back in my car for no kidding, 2 min tops , they come knocking on the car with a bag saying my shrimp were done. I know these weren’t the shrimp they misplaced because the foam box had holes in it from being burnt by hot grease. These just came up. I ate anyway thinking they were pre-cooked . Something’s not right because 5-6 hours later I’m at urgent care with papers in my hand saying I have food poisoning!! These people were the only place I ate in 2 days!!!!! And I loved them I get them if not once a week, once every other week. This whole experience today was terrible. I called asking to speak to a manager, they said she left for the day. I said is there any manager in tonight??? A man gets on the phone saying “yeah I’m second in charge what’s up?” Once again UNPROFESSIONAL. I started explaining he cut me off asking what I ordered, I told him he said “those are cooked meals soooo where you getting at?” I lost it at this point I asked for the owners number he says he doesn’t have that information call back tomorrow. So tomorrow I’ll be there with my urgent care papers and pictures && I want my $50 back that I spent today on that b**********
Used to love this place. Now the service is awful. Will never go back anymore. We waited over an hour for our food and appetizer. Waitress passed by twice during that time. Don't go here unless you want to kill a couple hours and not get your food.
