If you go to Rock N Sake, you kind of just know you’re not getting special treatment, although you pay the special treatment price. The quality of the fish is mid-tier for the area. The sashimi I would avoid due to a strange fishy taste. The ceviche was too spicy, and I LOVE spice. We didn’t get our last rolls because it would have taken an additional 30 minutes AFTER the last rolls we received so we cancelled it. 30 minutes between rolls but maybe 10 minutes between ordering is a huge concern and signifies a bottleneck in your sushi chefs or a service incompetence.

Our server even blamed us for ordering sporadically after waiting over an hour for our rolls. She kept lying about when the food was being prepared and about what we ordered, since throughout the experience we were doubting we were ever going to get our food. Didn’t offer anything on the house, so it must be regular behavior for them. This restaurant has no respect for customer’s time. I understand it is an establishment and restaurants aren’t entitled to serve anybody, but for the prices, I would suggest taking your business to more worthy restaurants. This one is worthless, at least compared to the Metairie location. I will say that I enjoyed my cocktail, the passion fruit one. And I am happy that they were open on a Sunday night and open to large tables. But it was SO overpriced and such a waste of lifetime overall

The slowest sushi place in town! Been here over an hour now and still nothing on our table. And the place is empty. Every time I come here it takes over an hour to get the food. Great food. Just takes forever!!! And this is a new development.

So sad that a place that used to be lively and welcoming is now a place ready to clock out. Had to flag down our server because she seemed to run away any chance. So sad but good was great.

Eaten here many times over the years, (we drive 2 hours to enjoy the food and service), but tonight was disappointing. It took over 30 minutes to get our order, the food was no where near as fresh and flavorful as it used to be. They had a crowd outside waiting in the sun and made people wait several minutes past opening (even though we could see them screwing around inside and they most definitely saw all of us), tried to seat us in the hot sun after sweating outside, then we moved to where everyone else was going (cooler area) as well. We then got our drink orders and she just sorta disappeared for a little while. Finally took our appetizer order and eventually took our sushi orders. Appetizer came out quickly but the sushi was 30 minutes later-5 rolls total. The avocado was not fresh and was turning black, the fruit (mango) was warm and chewy and the fish was warm and not “crisp” as it should have been, very chewy and blah.
The server was nice but was inattentive and I think she was training a new girl, not sure that’s going to work out, but it was disappointing.
There are too many other options closer to home that we will be utilizing in the future.
Sad, used to be worth the drive and high price, but not anymore.

Didn't eat inside but came to pick up an order. Surprisingly dirty everywhere. Trash on the floors, disgusting bathrooms, dusty dirty ceiling fixtures. Very surprising for a sushi restaurant. Also waited 15 minutes before anyone came back to me to ask me what the name was for my order

I'm giving my overall rating a 3 at the moment, strictly based on the quality of the food. I see many people complaining about the prices and/or sizes of rolls, but the sushi industry is about paying for quality. For many years I've come to this establishment, highly recommend them, enjoyed the happy hour a few times and plenty of dinners. Yesterday was my worst experience with the lack of acknowledgement from the bartenders. To be made to feel like an inconvenience upon arrival was a terrible feeling, especially when I went there to spend money and have a great experience as I have in the past, for YEARS. When I see reviews about poor service, I may overlook it, taking into consideration that it could have been really busy during other people's visits. Last night it was not that busy, there was no one at the host stand, there were only 5 other people at the bar (if employees are allowed to sit at the bar outside of their shift, it shouldn't be obvious that you are an employee, nor should the bartenders spend all their time and attention on them), and a few tables by the sushi bar occupied. I've seen busier nights. I was not greeted at the bar, I wasn't even offered a menu, I had to ask for menus once one of them decided to stand in front of me and just give me a blank stare, was asked if I knew what I wanted after 2 minutes of reviewing the menu, put in all of my food and drink orders at once, received the wrong drink but didn't want to wait for them to remake the cocktail. The miso soup was lukewarm and came in a cold bowl, my other dishes were fresh as always (tuna ceviche, marg roll), but they wouldn't know that considering they did not check in on me at any point throughout my visit, did not offer or ask if I wanted/needed anything from another drink to any sauces. Overall, not a great experience with the lack of awareness, acknowledgement, and putting more effort into other customers who are picking up to-go food and employees drinking at the bar. How do you expect to have customers return if you're not trying to upsell, ask questions, check-in on the quality, make any suggestions, or give a simple greeting to make someone feel welcomed? Hopefully the company can get together to figure out where things need to change to keep their establishment from collapsing in the long run.

BEWARE! Extorted for a $200 parking fee by the Rock n Sake staff. We came in from out of town to take daughter (LSU Student) out to dinner for her birthday. Wife left and came back with the rental for 5 minutes. Rock n Sake staff intentionally delayed us getting our check so that they could get boots installed on our tires by an extortion company called American Coachworks. The Rock n Sake hostess and servers clearly get a cut from the Coachworks booty. The RnS hostess came out and was reassuring the American Coachworks extortionists while we waited for the police to arrive. Ended up being a $400+ dinner for 4 people.
