They had everything we needed very good prices. One thing I refuse to buy at Walmart and I rather go here is the meat because Walmart's dates are always almost expired
On the evening of July 27, 2025, my fiancé and I were standing near the produce section at the Rouses on Arlington Creek (LSU side) having a private conversation. After about 45 minutes, a store lead (possibly named Keisha or Kendra) politely asked if we needed anything — which we appreciated and kindly declined.
But shortly after, the store manager, Jonathan, approached us in a way that felt invasive and uncomfortable. Despite me explaining we were simply talking and even showing him my engagement ring, he continued to question us about why we were still in the store. His tone was not welcoming — it felt like we were being watched or targeted.
After checking out, I expressed to him how uncomfortable the interaction made us feel. He did apologize, but by then, the experience had already ruined the visit.
As a loyal customer, I expected to be treated with respect. This incident left both of us feeling disrespected and unwelcome. I hope Rouses will take this seriously and properly train staff on how to interact with customers respectfully and without bias.

Excellent grocery store. A wide variety to choose from. Plenty of locally sourced products. I wish this store was in my city.
Went to Rouses in Plaquemine for some steak that they had on sale, unfortunately they had none and advised me to come back early Monday. Picked up a couple of snacks . Got home and opened a bag of Hanpton Farms Spicy Dill Pickle Peanuts and found small bugs crawing in the
plate. Called Rouses and advised them. Not sure if they pulled from shelf.
I guess there is a reason I do not shop at this Rouses .

Beautiful grocery store. Love that it promotes Louisiana brands. Well stocked, and the staff members were very helpful. A true gem in Baton Rouge.
