Easy parking Then not courteous hostess,. Non attentive waitress had to ask for service she just wanted to visit with other staff members just lack of attention to customers. Then awful meals catfish Acadian was terrible No shrimp with rice also Fish was separate and not good . Other meals not good either. NEVER RETURN They need better cooks and better waitresses.
This has happened a few times… it seems carry out doesn’t matter from a quality or typical quantity.
The food in restaurant is very different from the food that is carry out. My partner and his brother ate at the restaurant tonight and ordered carry out for me. They were shocked when they looked at my order compared to theirs.
I asked for a small grilled shrimp poboy no mayo. It came with lettuce, tomato and a fair amount of mayo… no grilled onions, peppers or pepper jack cheese and just a small amount of shrimp that fit perfectly on half of the bread.
I definitely won’t go back for a very long time and won’t take out of state guests or recommend to others. Very disappointing… makes me wonder if I want to go to any of the restaurants owned and operated by this entity.

🙄🤔When we traveled down from Massachusetts last week and your granddaughter (junior @ LSU) says she is going to take us to her favorite restaurant you think :🍺🍔🍹🍕.
Boy were we surprised and pleased - 💲, quality, taste and service ALL A+
Options a plenty and the 7 of us went from breakfast, lunch to dinner all in one sitting.
Will definitely be a frequent visitor next year during graduation week.

Don’t waste your time. Good food but absolute worst service of any restaurant I’ve ever been to. 2.5 hours from the time we sat down until we got our food. I honestly forgot what I ordered by the time I received it. Do yourself a favor and pick another spot.

Only my second visit but my wife was a regular when she attended LSU.
Spin dip is really good. I had the chicken club and it was good. I wasn’t up for anything beef and I don’t do seafood so that takes out half the menu.
Over all it’s pretty good over all. It’s a super solid 4-stars.

Food was amazing, but our server Jennifer was not. Terrible service.. we didn’t get straws for our drinks, only asked if we wanted our drinks refilled once, asked for to go boxes 3 times before we even got them. Mind you a table that was seated 15
mins after us received faster service to the point where their food & checks came out before ours. Both tables were 5 guests.

I've had food from Sammy's before but I had never eaten inside. I still say they have the best gumbo in Baton Rouge. This time was no exception. But there was a little bit of shell either from the shrimp or crab in it so be careful. I also had the crawfish etouffee, which they served as a soup. I had never eaten it that way before. The flavor was good, but there were very few crawfish in it and those that were were exceptionally small. So I won't order that the next time I eat there.

I didn't like the sauces.. outside seating is extremely hot! I saw the guy preparing the food, using a read bucket to dump the shrimp in the hot food station. Blew me away!! I want eat here again. A plastic bucket.
a classic old Baton Rouge eatery with the Southern fare you crave when visiting town or a local looking to satisfy a hankering for good soulful food.
Stopped into Sammy's Grill for lunch and had the Thin fried catfish and white beans ( Substituted the white bean with a side of red beans and rice). It was enough for two people. Delicious food and great service. Another go to spot in Baton Rouge.
Onion rings and mozzarella sticks were delicious! Main dishes were subpar unfortunately. Waitstaff were friendly but service was pretty slow.
Nice place to sit and enjoy your food 😋
