I was looking forward to dining here. It's been a few years. I forgot about the new ownership. It's dingy & smelled heavily of bleach. I wish I would have went to Mike Anderson's. The fried shrimp were over fried and the batter is not the same as it used to be. Fried shrimp no longer comes with baked/stuffed potato (up charge for substitution) and salad. The tartar sauce was a strange color and again, not the same. The crawfish étouffée was watery and not tasty with tiny crawfish. Sad to see it go down hill.

Ordered my food to go. Glad I did restaurant was packed. Food was delicious. Can't wait to try other meals. Had Sugar Cane Shrimp, Boudin Eggs Rolls, Two step basket as well as the bread pudding ? omg. Magnificent even without the white chocolate sauce.

Some of the best crawfish and food in town. Great atmosphere, friendly and cute service, cold beer with great specials on drinks for each day.
The sole reason for going to Sammy's was to get crawfish because it has been the best so far.. After waiting a 1hr 30mins for a table for 7 (totally fine and normal wait time due to size and busyness) I put my order for crawfish in immediately because I knew it would take a while.. after a full hour my table was already done eating and just waiting for me to receive my crawfish... sadly when my crawfish arrived I immediately knew it wouldn't taste good. The smell was not there (we all know what good crawfish smells like and know how it will taste based on it). I peeled the first one and not to my surprise it tasted like the memory of seasoning.. I kid you not it tasted like the chef intended to season it amazingly but forgot to and it was only a thought now. It tasted like the previous batch but watered down. Like a dash of pepper was added. I tried a few more and the flavor felt like it was getting lost to the new memory of absolute disappointment. Absolutely terrible. The waitress was kind enough to ask if it was alright. I told her it wasn't and she went to get some information on why for me. Turns out they had a new boiler.. im not mad at the waitress or the boiler. I am infact disappointed that the manager didn't even care to come to at least address the situation. Granted I didn't asked for the manager but I'm sure they were informed because I asked for it to be taken off my bill and it was granted. I'm very disappointed and hungry for good crawfish. Hopefully this will be a one time incident and the boiler gains the experience to satisfy the crawfish fanatics and the manager learns to at least say something because it a common courtesy.

See ya Sammy’s! Sammy’s has been our go to place for many years. Well……Sammy’s it is time for this relationship to end. Food was cold. Service was terrible and many of our favorites are no longer on the menu. We are on a mission to find a new go to place.
We stopped in for lunch and were not disappointed. Food was delicious. Service was great (I’m annoyed I don’t remember our server’s name because she was awesome!). I would 100% recommend to anyone in or passing through Baton Rouge.

I would like to mention the service and the staff's efforts they are great, active, and polite, I would like to go back to this restaurant not only because of their food but also because of their good staff members .
Food was great but had a terrible experience with the staff. One person in our party ordered crawfish and it came out 45 minutes after everyone else’s food. The waitress never offered apologies or something to eat/drink while he waited on his food. We had all finished our meals for a solid 30 minutes before his ever arrived. When confronted about the food taking so long, the waitress said “we ran out and are having to cook more” and immediately walked away. At this point we asked to speak with the manager to inform her that we were still waiting on his food. She was very rude stating that they usually tell wait staff to tell tables to order crawfish early, which we were never told. She then went on to make excuses and refused to comp his meal. We never received any apologies during our entire meal. Very disappointing experience considering the food is good.

There's not much to say. I expected the food to be better. It wasn't the worst, but it wasn't the best. I was given some stupid excuse why my credit card was charged 3 times for the same check. They said I would only be charged once. I'm yet to see that to be true. I don't appreciate having to keep tabs on my credit card charges because yall dont know what you are doing. If need be, I will be disputing these charges. I went to your restaurant in a great mood, left in a horrible mood. Thanks for nothing.

Came for crawfish but unfortunately sold out on Monday at 19:30 Anyway, oysters were juicy, and the bread pudding was really yummy ?? (I am not a fan, but I tried it as a friend recommends me this. To conclude: I loved it).
