Smokey Watson BBQ

I moved from Slidell to Baton Rouge 2 years ago. I can not believe it took me so long to find this place. I was a little skeptical at first because when I called the number no one answered. But when I looked on Google, they said they were open, so I just took a ride and I am so glad that I did. They did not disappoint me. I usually don't order potato salad from other places because I'm picky about my potato salad and everybody don't know how to make potato salad Im the same way about greens. But when I tell you, I got the potato salad as a side order. And the greens as a side order and it tastes like my grandmother cooked it. This place is awesome. The brisket was so tender when I picked the meat up. The meat was falling off of each other as far as the ribs. The same way. The ribs were falling off the bone. The sauce is impeccable. I will not. I repeat. I will not be getting barbecue from any other place. This is my sweet spot from now on until I leave Baton Rouge. Thank you so much, Smokey Watson. Because you are the epitome of what real barbecue meat is supposed to taste like. God bless your hands.

The wife and I found Smokey Watsons today. I’m always on the lookout for smoked brisket, and Smokey Watson did not disappoint. Loved every bite. We also ordered the ox tail. I’ve never had smoked ox tail before and now I’m spoiled. Delicious! Smoked Mac and Cheese is a must have. Just finished off the leftovers for supper and I’m looking forward to the next time.

For the last few weeks I have had reservations about trying Watson’s. Only because of my experiences with some other restaurants here in Baton Rouge. Well, baby I’m here to tell y’all! It’s A1! Great customer service, good price and good food. I’ll be returning soon!

I have eaten BBQ from five different states in both chain box stores and mom and pop operations and I can say that Smoky Watson BBQ is the best BBQ I have ever had in my entire life. Smoky Watson is a good man and knows how to cook good food.

I had bbq burger ABSOLUTELY no seasoning , mac and cheese was dry, and turkey wing tasted old and I ate here b4 today was a bad day ☹️☹️

Over priced. I bought a pork steak plate which is 13 dollars added a sausage link and it came to 25.84. How Sway, How.....I love to patron my people businesses, but we have to do better.

My husband just came home with a burger, smoked sausage & brisket, potato salad, mac N cheese, baked beans, mustard greens and rolls. He told me he really enjoyed the people at Smokey Watson BBQ. And then we ate the BEST food! Everything was cooked perfectly and each item had its own delicious flavor! These folks know what they're doing and we're about to know each other real well. You're missing out if you don't go see for yourself how great their food is.

I found this on Google Maps randomly when looking for something open on the 4th of July. I got the pulled pork sandwich with Mac n cheese and potato salad and my friend got the pork steak with the same sides. We loved every single bite!! The Mac n cheese was cheesy and had a slightly Smokey flavor. The potato salad had just the right amount of tang from the mustard, and the bbq sauce is the perfect mix of vinegar and sweet. The meat was not dry at all and cooked perfectly.
We just wished they sold dessert too because we know that would be just as amazing lol The service was quick and friendly too! Thanks for sharing your Diet Dr Peppers with us! ;)
