The food looked good and fancy but not fresh ingredients. Also, the dish that supposed to be served with sirloin, barely had any meat. They also brought us the wrong order. Their drinks were the only part that was ok.

From the start of the evening everything was set in place by our amazing server/mixologist, Jaime. Her professionalism and fun attitude/approach to engaging us as customers and friends had us saying, "...yes at hello.".
The menu was cleverly arranged with modern Asian cuisine dishes that made it hard to choose. But the food choices did not disappoint. The flavors were well paired and played.

Jamie, the mixologist!!! OMG!!! She was so passionate and creative with the drinks she created for us. She even created original drinks on the spot!!!

Soji is a definite return destination for when I visit Baton Rouge again.

The food was amazing and service was top notch! Thank you Jamie for such creative and amazing drinks and for being an amazing server. Checkout her creative drinks on the menu. The vibe is mellow cool. Great place to enjoy amazing drinks and great food with friends or on a date.

Soji is a go to for us. Came in and was surprised by a new menu. Don’t worry, plenty favorites are still on the menu. We were not disappointed! Spicy Tuna Tacos were excellent. Enjoyed shaking things up and already have some items picked out for next time!

I called in a reservation for my daughter who tured 20 yrs old and 4 of her friends so a party of 5 on 3/16/2025. I specifically asked to speak with a Manager on Duty before my daughter and her friends arrive and was transferred to a Caroline Burney. Towards the end of the meal, Caroline called me to take my cc info for payment. I asked her the amount and she shared $137.00. She asked me if I wanted to tip and I said 20%. I then asked her if she could please email me a copy of my receipt (with todays fraud and all being so rampant), and she said she would immediately. 3 hrs later, no email. I called back just before closing and asked for her again, and again I was transferred to her. I politely requested a copy of the receipt again, and she said it had been busy, and would send before EOD. Today is the 20th, and still no receipt. I have called twice since the 16th, and feel I am getting the run around. "There is no Manager available currently...someone will call you back". I don't wish to give a bad review, but I don't intend to leave my credit card information floating out there, without some proof of what the birthday night actually cost us. It was also why I was hesitant to provide cc information over the phone. Logistically, I live in Washington DC and the dinner was in Baton Rouge.

***Update
7 mins after posting this review, a Manager named Cece, called me back and emailed me my receipt.

I’m shocked that this restaurant enjoys a good reputation, the food was not good at all. The service was good, the server was super nice and the everything came out in a timely manner. The food just sucked.

We had a great experience at a busy time on a Saturday evening. The appetizers, entrees, and drinks were all delicious and our server Daven did an exceptional job. It was a bit difficult making a reservation for a large party of 10 (see below), but our table was ready and we walked in and sat right down 5 minutes before our reserved time.
Daven greeted our table and took a moment to learn everyone's name. He suggested drinks and appetizers and answered questions about the menu. It took more than a few moments to get our drinks from the bar, but it was very busy. 8 of our 10 entrees were delivered together and the remaining 2 came out just a few minutes behind. Everyone enjoyed their dinner and Daven was attentive to drink refills and other requests. Overall, a terrific experience: Recommended.
A note regarding reservations: I tried to use the online reservation system and was given a time, but did not get a confirmation. I called the restaurant a few times during lunch hours only to get a very long voicemail message and a notice that the mailbox was full. I called back after 5pm and spoke with someone that confirmed my reservation and told me I would need to make a $50 non-refundable deposit. This amount was deducted from our bill, but the $2.50 fee was not. I honestly don't have a problem making a deposit for a reservation as long as my table is going to be ready on time as it was in this case. Parking was a bit tricky here, as it is at many midcity eateries, but we did find a spot.

Parking: There is a big pothole in the back parking lot that needs to be filled in.

The food lacked a lot. The dumplings were cold like they came from the refrigerator. They were replaced, and they were warmer but still cold for dumplings. Shrimp tempura rolls were okay. The Tapanyaki steak with garlic noodles was the next dish, and the steak was medium and cold. The noodles were hot, so I tried mixing it to warm the steak, but it didn't work. The restaurant is nice and the ambiance is good for a date night. The old fashion was delicious, but the mule tasted like lime water.

Parking: Only a few parking spots. Had to park on the grass

I have dined at this restaurant several times and am not impressed. The food quality varies but is generally ok, nothing special. The service at this restaurant is what is truly lacking. Granted that they can be busy, food will come out cold and take longer than necessary to be served. I absolutely cannot recommend placing a to-go order with them as it will most likely be cancelled after an hour or more of waiting. I wish I had proof of the multiple times this has happened, but the photo of the two most recent examples will have to do. Highly recommend the owner of this restaurant gets a handle on his establishment before it goes the way of so many others in this city.

I drove from Hammond to BR for Valentine’s Day to treat myself and I was really excited to try a new restaurant. The hostess was super nice and asked me how my day was. She sat me in corner which was actually perfect because I really didn’t want to be near anyone so it was perfect. I decided to go for the three course meal that they were offering for Valentine’s for $70. I chose the lover’s paradise sushi, the lobster ramen bisque and the strawberry shortcake. The sushi roll was delicious and very unique. The lobster ramen was a hot mess. It was more crawfish than lobster. For $70 I expected for there to be at least more lobster. It was mid. When the dessert came out, I expected it to resemble somewhat a traditional strawberry shortcakes. It was just an oddly round cake with two strawberries. I was really expecting the food to live up to the hype and it didn’t. The server and food runner were so so nice and the hostess that I saw earlier told me goodbye and to have a nice evening. The staff are so kind, 10 stars to the staff. I can’t wait to try this restaurant again, I’m hoping they can step up their A game.

The best atmosphere for visiting with friends- amazing food!! Our party of 4 enjoyed Szechuan chicken wings,
lemongrass edamame and a sushi roll for our appetizers. The main courses were
General soji chicken, sesame chicken bento box and two plates of the
Soji special Beef and Broccoli- the best!!
Chocolate cake layered with bananas and cherries. Our server Dee Dee was on top of things and our hostess Riley made spot on meal suggestions as well! Give them a try- you won’t be disappointed!!

We met friends here for dinner and it was wonderful! Riley greeted us at the front door and showed us to our table right away. Then Dede, our server, was helpful as it was our first visit. She helped with the menu and specials. My husband had a question about some sushi rolls and even had a chat with the chef (Tony) to make sure everything was just the way he liked it.
We had a great experience and look forward to our next visit!
