Great food. The regular menu is great. The brunch menu is great. Taco Tuesday is great. Good events, live music, etc in addition to the dining experience. On top of it all, really good vibes from really good people from the ownership on. Can't recommend enough.

Food was ok. Chicken was overcooked and hard. Salad was otherwise ok for the price. The staff was very friendly and accommodating for the kids and even served their meal disassembled. Had to ask for forks though, the water glass was kind of dirty, and was served the wrong meal at first. I really liked the atmosphere though.

Kid-friendliness: No kids menue, but very accommodating. Even offered to prepare chicken nuggets.

What a charming little spot with a menu fit for a king and service to match! Don’t mind the grumpy old guy working there because the food is guaranteed to leave you smiling all day! Don’t forget the drinks!

I ordered the fried chicken and tbh it was dry and kind of bland. The catfish was also lacking seasoning, I guess my expectations were too high since goggle described this restaurant as southern comfort. The only good item we enjoyed were the fresh french fries, but they came out very oily and got soggy quickly.

Great customer service. Clean, nice vibe. I ordered the famous slam burger with yams and a side of fried okra. Presentation was nice. Only problem was the grease the okra was fried in needed to be changed. Burger patty was over cooked. Yams where dried out. I will visit again and give the another try.

Great spot for a good quick meal. Really appreciate the late night service on the weekends. Zach’s Chicken Fried Chicken, Thin Lizzie Pork Chops, and the IWDAF Meatloaf are real good. Can’t miss with the Smashburger either. Cool vibe, friendly staff and good food. Great combo.

Talk about home grown, stick to your ribs soul food. I went with my cousin last week, we shared an app and got a ton of the sides to try a bit of everything. MAN it was like thanksgiving in there I wish I could have taken a nap after!!

I often set up at the local art events at soulshine. Such a great turnout and the food is AMAZING! Definitely follow them on social media to keep up with their events, crawfish boils, and pop up dinners

I really wanted to like this place. The name is cool. The location is right. The food sounded like home runs when I read the menu.Alas it was not. From the cornbread dressing that was over salted and tasted l I me day old Mississippi Delta hot tamales to the tough smothered chicken breast and flat dry bread pudding it was all wrong. I only gave it 1 star because the service wasn't the worst or the best. Zero stars.

TRUST! What an adventure! Your portions are HUGE, creative and delicious. I wanted to take a vat of your seafood gumbo home with me. And the drinks…ORDER THE DRINKS! Can’t recommend enough.

It wasn’t really good im so sorry. I just have to be honest. They need a cook that specializes in real soul food; if thats what they’re representing. It was my first time trying it & i was so disappointed. The alcoholic beverage was pretty okay. They’re in a nice spot too. Mac & cheese was very disappointing.

I was absolutely stunned at the food and service at SoulShine Kitchen and Bar! Sharing a strip of buildings with other businesses and located on the LSU campus, I was expecting something different. Not something BAD, necessarily, but certainly not such well-prepared, beautifully presented, delicious food! To top it off, the bar staff were friendly, super attentive, and quick! The atmosphere is "college bar," the food and service are reminiscent of a MUCH pricier place. HIGHLY recommended! ?

Great spot! Very nice ambiance, loved the lighting and the layout! The food was on point and they had a good beer selection! We went for their open mic night and just wow! It was a blast and I would recommend Soulshine to anyone.

One of my fave places! Danny makes amazing food and it's such a fun atmosphere. Love all the hidden Easter eggs. AND DID I MENTION THE TRUST DINNERS?!
