Spoke & Hub, located where the old Bistro Byron’s used to be on Government Street, is a delightful addition to Baton Rouge’s restaurant scene. With its bike-themed decor featuring vintage bicycles and charming touches, the ambiance is as inviting as the food. This spot is a must-visit for anyone looking for great meals and even better vibes.

Let’s start with the star of the menu: the croffle. This buttery croissant-turned-waffle is pressed in a waffle iron and served with Steen’s cane syrup—a local delicacy that takes it over the top. It’s the perfect fusion of a croissant’s flakiness and a waffle’s softness. My son, as seen in my photos, is a huge fan, and honestly, so am I. A 10/10 appetizer!

I visited Spoke & Hub twice with my mom and son and had the chance to try several dishes:
• Smothered Chicken over Rice (Lunch Special): Comfort food perfection, served with a hearty hunk of cornbread.
• Louisiana Hot Brown: A sandwich stacked with chicken, bacon, and ham—rich and flavorful.
• Chicken Fingers (Kids’ Menu): House-fried, not frozen, and in generous portions—perfect for little ones.
• Hot Chicken Sandwich: Spicy, crispy, and satisfying.
• Classic Hamburger: My mom’s choice on one visit, which she thoroughly enjoyed.

The sweet tea is also worth mentioning. It’s everything sweet tea should be—full-bodied, sugary, and refreshing.

On my third visit, I celebrated my birthday, and the staff made it special by surprising me with a complimentary slice of cake for dessert. The waiter also recommended a cozy bar behind the restaurant. This small lounge had live music, a packed house, and a fantastic atmosphere—a great way to end the night.

Spoke & Hub has quickly become one of my favorite spots in Baton Rouge. Whether you’re stopping in for lunch, dinner, or their highly recommended brunch (which I’m looking forward to trying), you won’t be disappointed. The food, the decor, and the outstanding staff make it all worth the visit.

10/10 would recommend!

Best BBQ in town. Good smoke ring on brisket that is so tender. Sides are great too. Best to order ahead and get a geaux biox.

Nice clean neighborhood restaurant appeal. The atmosphere, lighting, and decor is inviting to eat great food or sit at bar and have a drink and watch a game on tv. Ice cream is good as well

Wheelchair accessibility: There is a ramp in front for wheelchair access.

They had Rally Cap, First Pitch and Ambush beer on tap! 🧡 I’ll be back if they keep that one! I ate the chicken biscuit with gravy, served with cracklings. Who knew that cracklings would pair so well with gravy!? Food was great, beer was equally great. 👍

Excellent service and delicious food - EVERY TIME! Highly recommend the croffle and the chicken biscuit; I could probably eat that every day and it never get old. The service has always been exceptional as well.

My only suggestion is to turn the air up just a little. It's freezing in there and runs me out lol
