Right next to LSU.
We wanted something that could be considered local, not a chain and not at New Orleans Pricing.
Big comfy restraunt and bar.
The neighborhood is better than Downtown New Orleans. A few homeless, the stores a little run down, but it is a college town.
Plenty of families eating there.
Oysters were large and came w8th plenty of horse radish,
lemmons,crackers and cocktail sauce
Gator bites delicious
Pulled acoustic Beef poor boy with Fries was large portions

The food was amazing. Cooked perfect and flavorful. They have a side dish of roasted cauliflower what stole the show. But what really stood out was the service.Louie the bartender was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. Nicest guy! Service with him never stopped.

I have been eating at the Chimes for the last 30 years. It is a shame when a restaurant this great goes downhill. The menu has downgraded, the food has downgraded, and the service has downgraded. The gumbo used to be duck sausage gumbo but has downgraded to chicken sausage. Fried oysters and fried oyster poboys have been taken off the menu. The crawfish etouffee used to have a small or large option, and also used to come with a nice piece of crusty French bread. It only comes in one size now with no french bread. The boudin balls and etouffee came out luke warm. The dozen raw oysters no longer come with a basket of crackers but came with 8 crackers. Our server, while good was too busy with too many tables to give good service. Over all a disappointment. I don't live in Baton Rouge now and I make it a point to eat at the Chimes everytime I visit, and recommend it to everyone I know visiting Baton Rouge. I will be looking for somewhere else to eat when visiting Baton Rouge now and will not be recommending to anyone. What a disappointment.

Very nice place. I love the second floor that is outdoor eating. Very good vibe for every adult age group. Food was good and priced as your average restaurant. My son is a intern at LSU and loves the vibe.

Still the best etouffee and shrimp/corn soup in town. Excellent beer selection and great service.

Unrivaled Baton Rouge institution. Been a favorite place for friends and family for more than 40 years. Food rarely disappoints, like: count on fingers of one hand in forty years rarely.
Service is always better than good.
Atmosphere varies by time of day and season, but always pleasant.

I’ve come before and got the Tbird which was REALLY good! But to be in Louisiana and the gumbo tastes like it has tomatoes in it🥲 im obviously going to go back but the gumbo is NOT it.
