From the second we entered the door, the hostess was so sweet and welcoming. We got seated immediately and the service was absolutely stellar. We had Anna as our server and she was absolutely amazing. When our food came, they immediately placed our food in front of us without auctioning it off and the food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! Best experience I’ve ever had at a restaurant! If we ever come back to BR, this will be a MUST! The place is also adorable, the decor is so cute and the music is great! It’s also extremely clean! 12/10 recommend

Literally such an incredible experience from parking lot, to door/hostess, to table, to food, to paying!!!!! Our waitress Anna was PHENOMENAL!! The food was insanely good!!! And the vibes were absolutely immaculate!! I seriously can’t wait to come back! Hands down best experience I’ve had in a veeeeeeery long time!! I’m not easy to impress but consider me IMPRESSED!!!! I will tell everyone I know to RUN not walk to The Velvet Cactus!!!!!!

I REALLY want to like this place because the atmosphere is so cool, but the food SUCKS! I went here when they first opened and remember the food being meh. I waited years before going back. We spent $80 on 2 alcoholic drinks, 1 app, 2 entrees. I ordered enchiladas, and they had NO SAUCE on them. How to you serve an enchilada with no sauce? Isn't the point of an enchilada to be drowning in sauce??? When the waitress looked she said "I see some sauce right there". You shouldn't have to search for the sauce!!! Also, they've jumped on the Street Corn bandwagon but have completely missed the mark. You know when you overcook corn on the cob and the kernels become shriveled and hard? They covered that in some street corn concoction and called it a day. I sent it back for another piece, and she brought me a shriveled piece again.??‍♀️ The waitress was nice and is at the mercy of her kitchen staff. They clearly don't know what they're doing back there. The next day, I ate my leftover enchiladas covered in taco bell sauce, and they weren't half bad ?

I dined in here with my date and kids. Our server was very pleasant and kind. Being that it was a Saturday evening it was very busy. There was a wait between ordering that lasted around 20 minutes. They brought out a small serving of Queso for us to snack on. When it was time for us to order our meals it took about fifteen minutes. The atmosphere was vibrant many different races at tables enjoying their drinks and meals along with kids. I will say that if you come here to dine with kids under 10 to bring a tablet or portable gaming device on the weekend. The food we ordered was okay. It wasn’t spectacular, but seasoned well with nice presentation. I’ll come back here again. The parking lot can get tight fast too, so just be mindful of that as well.

Many Mexican restaurants are about the same. But the food here is definitely a cut above the rest. Service is always great. And you can't beat the outdoor seating by the pond/fountain

Love this place! It was my first time visiting with some friends and we enjoyed it. Service is just ok but the food is really good as well as the Margaritas, they have some interesting tasty recipes for this cocktail.Sitting outside during a nice afternoon was a great choice. We visited on a Saturday afternoon and it was pretty busy.

I have been here twice and the best way to sum up the place is...meh. Nice waitstaff and food is okay but nothing about it really stands out other than a great outdoor seating area. I would recommend the place if you are looking for something different.

Went here for happy hour on Friday. The margaritas were delicious. Tried the guacamole and it was average. I ordered a taco salad and it's huge, it can definitely feed 2. The atmosphere is nice. Would definitely go back for drinks. Dillon gave us great service.

The place has an eclectic feel, which I can dig.The food arrived quickly & the waitstaff was decent. The restroom has toilet seat sanitizer in each stall. I had never seen this in a restaurant, but it was a nice touch along with the lotion for your hands after washing them.Food: fresh and pretty yummy. The complimentary salsa is served warm and is truly a star.I ordered the Sampler1 Beef flauta, 1 Tex Mex Egg Roll and 1 Crawfish Bandito served with aioli sauce and queso. I dream about that queso. I didn't care for the raspberry dipping sauce, but I'm not much of a sweet and savory gal.My daughter ordered the Deep South Taco a well as the steak Taco. The Mexican Street Corn was very favorite though.Cocktails: The Margarita was pressure: perfectly balanced tartness and sweetness with a Tequila kick.Verdict: I will be back!

The waiter was extremely nice and I love the atmosphere which is different than most restaurants around the area. The card machine was down so we have to wait 30 minutes after we tried to pay. The food was really good.

This was a wonderful place! We stopped at the city on our way home and decided to have dinner at the Velvet Cactus. Great atmosphere, good food. If we're ever back we'll definitely stop by!

I actually love love this place. Food was outstanding. Couldn’t sit outside because it was raining but we will be back and hopefully to sit by the water. Love the atmosphere, the art and the creative junkie of whoever designed it. Its simply beautiful. It’s one of the best restaurants I have been to in a long time.
