Based on the hype, I was expecting something exceptional from a cajun fried chicken restaurant. It was OK, but nothing more than I can get out here in houston. The shrimp fried rice was not so great, but the fries were good.

The staff was completely incompetent. I watched them drop a piece of chicken and try to put it back in my box. When I said something they fought me on it until I eventually got a refund.

I don't get it. I don't understand why people rant and rave about this place. The food is horrible, the place is a dirty hole in the wall, and the service is mediocre at best.

Visited this location at 4:15 p.m. on a Sunday. Waited in line for 10 min only to be told that the kitchen was closing and they weren't cooking anymore chicken. I believe it was the younger black guy with locs that made the call. Even if you were in line before 4:30, they refused to serve myself and several other people in line before me. The staff were very unprofessional arguing and using profanity with each other about closing the kitchen. Apparently customer service is optional here. I'll never spend another dime here, I don't care how the good the chicken is.

Why is this location always closed? The last time we visited, it was closed on a Tuesday. It is either closed or they open late. It used to be managed by chinese staff. They always give us free chicken - but not anymore.

I called and placed a pick up order at 4pm and showed up to pick my order at 4:40. On the phone they told me it would be no problem and I was able to come pick up my order before the store closed at 5:00pm. When I arrived to the store, they had locked the door and closed the store 20 minutes before it was supposed to close (confirmed with the sign on the door and this google page) and I could not pick up the order. The two workers (a man with locs and a woman as well) didn’t even allow me to pick up the order I placed long before I arrived even though the woman had pointed at my pick up order as it was already prepared and all I needed to do was pay. Instead of allowing me to pay for the order and go, the man shook his head saying that there is nothing he could do (even though the woman told him she knew they should not have closed early.) This was already the worst blue store here in Baton Rouge and I will definitely not be giving this one another chance. DO NOT PAY FOR ANYTHING HERE ESPECIALLY AS A PICK UP ORDER BECAUSE YOU MAY OR NOT BE ABLE TO PICK IT UP (even though you maybe told there is no issue with picking up your order.) Don’t waste your time here and go to any other blue store. This one is always hit or miss and the service is equally as tragic.

What’s happened to the chicken taste? Was this location sold? It’s not the same. In the last 2 weeks I’ve gotten wings. They taste like batter fried in grease, no seasoning. And fries were fried hard. So disappointed. Never was like this. What happened? Different management? Also new employees.

This place has gone downhill. I’ve been coming here since they opened but now they have a new roster of employees and all I have to say is I’m done with this place. There are plenty of other places that do it better out here. Why waste your money on this?

I love the food. The red beans and rice is just awesome. The fried chicken is so good. I ordered a 100 wings for a party. Everyone loved the wings and wanted to know where I got them. It’s a must when I go there to get the potato logs.

I have to change my review. Their service and food use to be better than any location since they had opened until recently. My entire family had gotten sick from the spiciness and saltiness. Idk if its the cook or new people there. I mean everything was perfect in the beginning but now its horrible. Everyone will have high blood pressure going there. I loved it while it lasted. This location use to be the best in town too.

Wife decided she wanted to have fish for dinner. I say, let's try the Blue Store, they have fish. So, we go to the Blue Store on Burbank and go in to make sure we get the order straight since this is new to us.
We place our order for two fish and shrimp plates, one with fries, one with shrimp fried rice, plus a chicken plate with red beans for grandson. We pay and sit down to wait, never looking at the receipt. We receive our food and head home.
Drop the wife off and head to Dutchtown to pick up grandson. Wife calls and informs me there is no fish nor shrimp in the bag. There are two orders of chicken wings, with Shrimp Fried Rice, no fries. My grandson's order is right.
I look at the receipt and sure enough, it read wings, not fish and shrimp. But, grandson's order was taken and filled correctly.
So, word of advice when dealing with fast food. Verify the receipt and verify your order before you leave the store.
