Loved everything about Chez Jacqueline! The food, the cozy atmosphere, and especially Chef Jacqueline- she’s so lovely, and pours her heart into every dish.

Went there this morning at 10am. Not open. You need to change your online hours because not only did we waste a trip we were looking forward to eating there!

Stay far away from this place. We went with a big party of friends, and I honestly don’t think anyone enjoyed what they ordered. The only thing that was decent was the salad. The owner and her waitress were very nice, but that was the only positive aspect of our dining experience.

My family of 8 came to eat here for 3.2 hours on a Sunday, and we were very excited because of the menu. The restaurant had signs with a disclaimer saying, “This is not a fast food restaurant…expect on a busy day to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your food.” We were all prepared to sit down and eat for awhile and were all fine with this; however, we ended up not being able to leave until 3:20. The service was very unprofessional and awkward, and while our waitress was very sweet, the chef was very rude. She yelled at our waitress (mind you, the only waitress), and she was very unkind to us. We brought a baby along whom she fussed at us for letting hold a menu because she said he’d rip it. She sat with us multiple times throughout the meal and was very aggressive in essentially asking us to tell her that the food was incredible. When we had ordered, I asked for the linguine with chicken, and she rudely remarked “no, no chicken, why would you get the chicken?” All of the food we received was overcooked, under-seasoned, and overpriced. Our family loves to pass food around and share with each other, and when we did, she came behind us and directly fussed at me “why are you eating that [and not your own meal],” to which I said, “we just like to share.” My aunt had pushed hers aside after eating half of it, and the chef very aggressively remarked, “oh, you don’t like that??” The most insane part of all of this was that the chef hid behind a tall counter by our table to listen to what we were saying just out of eyesight. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, so much so that my pregnant cousin had to drive to a nearby gas station to use the restroom facilities. The entire experience was unkind and uncomfortable, and when we went to pay, we were told that they only accepted cash, Cashapp, and Venmo, and absolutely “NO” credit cards. They additionally would not split the check at all, and they claimed this information was on the menu though it was not. We received our total and paid, and she gave us an itemized bill as we left, which we found only after paying and leaving was incorrect. Many of the items were slightly upcharged compared to their menu prices. It was an all-around awful experience, and we would not recommend. Cafe Sydnie Mae next door would be a much better choice for Cajun food or really any food and service at all.

Her restaurant reminds of the old days…
Visited here five years ago and enjoyed the best meal of my life. Returned for Valentines weekend 2025 to share the experience with the love of my life, again it was sublime. Jacqueline is an artist. I recommend the French wine, crawfish bisque and spending quality time with loved ones. At 80 years old she gets up at 3am to make everything by hand. To the staff and our waitress Joy, we truly appreciate the time and effort you put into making our experience beautiful. To jacqueline, you’re the hardest working woman in Beaubridge, and a bright shining light. Thank you
Love,
Lisa and Randal

This is a rare gem of a restaurant. Chef Jacqueline cooked all of our food to order, and we could taste the care she put into it. The French onion soup was THE best I have ever had in my life. I wish I could have tried more on the menu, but everything we had was fantastic. Don’t expect a fast paced meal like you would have at a busy chain restaurant. Chez Jacqueline is a cozy place to slow down and savor the food and the company you’re with. Chef Jacqueline came out and talked with each table and shared her love for French food, describing the many family pictures and memories hanging on the walls. This was a lunch I will never forget!

We had an amazing evening at Chez Jacqueline again. We only get down here once in a while but we always find time for Jacqueline’s amazing cooking. We call our visits the Chez Jacqueline Experience. Everything is made to order so it takes time. But it is time well spent. She treats us like family and spends time chatting and making us feel right at home. We love this place and will be back.

In Breaux-Bridge, if there is a place where you should go to eat, it is at Jacqueline's! The welcome, the place, the quality of the dishes and the presence of Jacqueline. As a bonus: the beignets to die for.
