Do yourself a favor and eat at Chez Jacqueline! What an outstanding experience!! The food was outstanding, the service superb and the best part was Jacqueline, the chef. 81 years old and still cooking. She is a testament to time honored traditions when it comes to cooking incredible Southern Louisiana French cuisine. She took her time to come out from the kitchen to greet and talk with every guest. It was a truly wonderful experience that we highly recommend everyone go and enjoy. Be sure to bring cash (or Venmo) as credit cards are not accepted.

Ouh là là! What a wonderful evening we had at Chez Jacqueline's! A cozy, quaint little gem of a restaurant with a fun-loving French atmosphere. We attended her very special Valentine's dinner event... complete with flowers & chocolates for the ladies, champagne, wine, 5 appetizers, entree, cheese board with warm bread and dessert, while being serenaded by a guitarist...all in over 3 hours of this fabulous French dining experience. The simple ingredients of each dish blended so well on the palate and we just love Jacqueline. She is an octogenarian full of spunk, determination, talent and love!

The owner is wonderful, friendly and kind. Her son is as well. This is a relaxed dining experience. The food is amazing! Try the escargot, you will not be disappointed. The fresh baked bread that comes with your meal is so yummy! We found this place by accident a few months ago and then intentionally found it again yesterday. The owner speaks French too 😊

From the moment you step into Chez Jacqueline, the warm ambiance and inviting decor set the stage for a delightful dining experience. The star of the show, Chef Jacqueline, is as charming and sweet as her namesake restaurant. Her passion for cooking and genuine care for her guests are evident in every dish and interaction, making you feel right at home.

The Mediterranean Salmon is a standout dish that showcases Chef Jacqueline’s culinary skills. Cooked to perfection, the salmon is incredibly tender, flaunting a beautiful crust that complements its rich flavor.
Another highlight of our meal was the rabbit, which Chef Jacqueline prepares with such finesse. Tender and succulent, the rabbit is seasoned exquisitely.

In addition to the exceptional food, the welcoming atmosphere and attentive service make Chez Jacqueline a place I can’t recommend highly enough. Whether you're looking for a cozy dinner for two or a gathering with friends, you’ll find that Chef Jacqueline not only serves delicious food but also creates an experience filled with warmth and hospitality. This restaurant is a true gem and deserves every bit of praise for its outstanding food and the lovely personality behind it!

Stay far away from this place. We went with a big party of friends, and I honestly don’t think anyone enjoyed what they ordered. The only thing that was decent was the salad. The owner and her waitress were very nice, but that was the only positive aspect of our dining experience.

My family of 8 came to eat here for 3.2 hours on a Sunday, and we were very excited because of the menu. The restaurant had signs with a disclaimer saying, “This is not a fast food restaurant…expect on a busy day to wait 30 minutes to an hour for your food.” We were all prepared to sit down and eat for awhile and were all fine with this; however, we ended up not being able to leave until 3:20. The service was very unprofessional and awkward, and while our waitress was very sweet, the chef was very rude. She yelled at our waitress (mind you, the only waitress), and she was very unkind to us. We brought a baby along whom she fussed at us for letting hold a menu because she said he’d rip it. She sat with us multiple times throughout the meal and was very aggressive in essentially asking us to tell her that the food was incredible. When we had ordered, I asked for the linguine with chicken, and she rudely remarked “no, no chicken, why would you get the chicken?” All of the food we received was overcooked, under-seasoned, and overpriced. Our family loves to pass food around and share with each other, and when we did, she came behind us and directly fussed at me “why are you eating that [and not your own meal],” to which I said, “we just like to share.” My aunt had pushed hers aside after eating half of it, and the chef very aggressively remarked, “oh, you don’t like that??” The most insane part of all of this was that the chef hid behind a tall counter by our table to listen to what we were saying just out of eyesight. The bathrooms were absolutely disgusting, so much so that my pregnant cousin had to drive to a nearby gas station to use the restroom facilities. The entire experience was unkind and uncomfortable, and when we went to pay, we were told that they only accepted cash, Cashapp, and Venmo, and absolutely “NO” credit cards. They additionally would not split the check at all, and they claimed this information was on the menu though it was not. We received our total and paid, and she gave us an itemized bill as we left, which we found only after paying and leaving was incorrect. Many of the items were slightly upcharged compared to their menu prices. It was an all-around awful experience, and we would not recommend. Cafe Sydnie Mae next door would be a much better choice for Cajun food or really any food and service at all.
