Hate to give such a poor rating but was really looking forward to boiled crawfish and shrimp. Both were very tough and without much flavor. I usually don't do fried so can't comment on the fried. The oysters were good. Had one piece of the stuffed boudin which was favorful. The gumbo was very runny and lots of spice. Bread pudding too sweet for my liking (I remember the Hotel Ponchartrain wonderful pudding). Waitress was nice but only came every so often to clear the plates and another had to fill our waters.I really wanted the seafood not fried and really didn't like any of it. Kind of sad for the price of $27 per head without a drink. No crab legs we could find.

They try hard at the House of Seafood but they are ok at best. I could name so many seafood restaurants that are better than them, but this is a buffet. I have not been here in about 25 years and I now understand why. The food is not inexpensive at $28.00 per person & drink of $3.00, our bill came up to $108.00 for 3 persons. The people do a good job making the food is kept full & drink are also full. This is a place to try but not eat here all the time. It is a BIG place.

I joyfully make this 2 plus hour trip bcuz the food is worth it. They never run out of anything bcuz someone is on the mic letting the back know what's low. I Love food, it's no secret bcuz I live it The Boot. I'm telling yall, this is literally the best kept secret on the Northshore. If you try it, you'll be a believer and you'll imitate Arnold by saying,"I'll Be Back!"

My husband and I go quite often. We love the atmosphere. It's very casual. The employees are sweet and cordial. If you ask for something that's not on the bar they will get it for you and if it's not there then they will let you know pleasantly . My husband loves to crabs and I like the oysters. The food is very good. We will be going back again tonight.
