Parish Diner is the kind of spot that feels like a cozy local breakfast place with a touch of Southern comfort. Walking in you immediately get that classic diner vibe — friendly staff, simple décor, and a menu full of familiar favorites that make you feel right at home.

The menu leans on all the breakfast classics you want: fluffy pancakes, omelets packed with toppings, biscuits and gravy that hit the spot, and plenty of hearty plates to kick off your day. What I personally appreciate is how unpretentious the food feels — straightforward, well-executed dishes that don’t try to reinvent the wheel but just deliver comfort and satisfaction.

It’s not fancy, and it’s not trying to be — it’s just good diner food done right, reliable and comforting. If you’re craving a filling breakfast or brunch in a laid-back setting with friendly service, Parish Diner is exactly that kind of place.

I ordered the veggie omelette with raisin bread and grits. I would just like to say the parish Diner which was formerly par 3 used to be the spot to go and eat, where the food was delicious. My food tasted old and smelly. I had to send it back. I usually never send food back but I could not stand the smell and taste of anything except the raisin toast bread and the grits (portion size was very small at an over charged price) that were surprisingly good. The waitress was super nice and took care of everything by taking the food back. I really wish I could give this a five star. I will give it a go one more time when I visit chalmette again and hope that my food taste fresh. I gave the atmosphere a four-star because I feel it needs some updating.

Good food, great service. There was a random chicken outside that was very curious. Highly entertaining.

This is my second attempt at this restaurant. I have been to the other restaurants in this group, Charlie's in violet, and kitchen table and usually have outstanding food. Unfortunately this location doesn't hold up to the other two.

The roast beef poboy I had the first time tasted burnt. This time, the gravy or meat tasted like it came from a can and even had a weird texture. My friend even said he could smell that from where he was sitting. It was inedible so I asked for something else. I ordered the oyster poboy. That too was Disgusting. They cooked the oysters so long you couldn't chew them at all.
Being a chef, I give a lot of grace to kitchens/staff and forgive a lot, but this was so bad, that something definitely needs to change for the better at this location.

The other items we ordered were ok, the onion rings fried perfectly, and the shrimp poboy was ok.
My friend was from Phoenix, so this was a really disappointing experience.

Really good food! Was in town and wanted a more home cooked type meal. Stumbled upon this place by chance. Restaurant was clean and the staff friendly. Food portions were excellent. The prices are extremely reasonable too!

Always excellent service with hot and fresh food. Never had a meal that wasn’t delicious. From the grits and pancakes to the poboys and fries, whatever you order you won’t be disappointed. All the thumbs up.

Went to eat dinner with friends and family We walked out before receiving our food due to rats. It is very obvious that the rats have been there for a while and have been eating good.

We went there on Friday night at 9 pm to eat with family and left due to rats coming out of the ceiling in the dining area. Do better guys!

We stopped off in Chalmette on our way home to Austin and this little hole in the wall place was just a mile from our hotel. I was immediately excited to see it because I wanted some local food beloved by locals that had something different than fast food, breakfast, or Mexican (we are Texans, we’ve got amazing Mexican cuisine at home!). Parish Diner did not disappoint with a great menu, friendly staff, and the food is amazing. We got a couple appetizers, the fried ravioli and fries with roast beef debris on it, also got some gator sausage, chicken tenders, and catfish. Every single thing we ate was delicious. I cannot overstate how good this place is. If you’re traveling through, please stop by and give them a try, you will NOT be disappointed. There are plenty of excellent places to eat in New Orleans, that’s a given, but these smaller towns surrounding the city are well worth a visit as well because I’ve had the best meal of my weeklong road trip across the Deep South right here at Parish Diner.

I’m so sorry I have no pictures. As soon as we got into our room, we opened the food and that smell hit us and we could not wait to dig in.
