Traveling through Louisiana on I-10/I-12, Cafe Du Monde in Covington, LA, provided just what we needed without having to detour into New Orleans for the best beignets around! Service was fast and the beignets were hot and tasty!

This chain never disappoints with tasty beignets and tasty Cafe au lait. This particular location provided no wait and ample seating and parking in a small strip center/outparcel.

Arrived here at around 615am, at the time the staffed seemed half asleep and pretty much ignored me when I asked where the restroom was.. my partner decided to use the restroom while I browsed the menu. It was my first time here and I didn't even know how to order. When it was my turn to use the restroom I can hear my partner laughing, always the one to start a conversation w strangers. Nonetheless, when I came out I was greeted by Clarice and Beau and they were happy enough to share the history of Chicory coffee a second time. They were very friendly, I just think we needed a sec. The place was clean and were given samples of their frozen iced coffee. The beignets were delicious!! Paired well with the Chicory coffee!! I wished I lived near by because I would be here every day. They told us the history and we told them about our road trip with our fur baby. They immediately said you can sit outside and we will put these on plates for you, what a plus that its super dog friendly. Thanks again CLARICE AND BEAU!

My husband and I stopped here for breakfast on an overnight visit to Covington. The young man and lady at the counter were very friendly. Our coffee and beignets were hot and delicious! The restaurant is clean. We’re so glad there is a Cafe Du Monde in Covington!

Honestly wished we went somewhere else for our breakfast treat. We visited the location at City Park in New Orleans. The Beignets were not the perfectly Pillowy soft yeast donut many rave about. I think it was over mixed and made them tough. The coffee was hot, fresh, rich and much appreciated for a cool and windy morning. The place could have been cleaner, but staffing shortages I imagine are to blame for this.

I frequent this location every time I find myself in Covington. The coffee and beignets are always good but management here needs to learn some people skills. There is an older lady behind the counter who we presume was the manager since she was loud and obnoxious toward customers and coworkers alike. We have had issues here before and just brushed them off. This time really upset us since we brought friends who have always heard of Cafe du Monde but never been here before. Their first impression was jaded because of the less than friendly woman behind the counter.

Great little restaurant. The food is just like the original location in New Orleans, just without the drama of NO. The beignets were great and the cafe au late was strong and good. The souvenirs were good to find. We were glad to find them while traveling Interstate 12. They seemed to have plenty of employees, unlike many neighboring restaurants.
