Cafe Du Monde Covington

Used the drive though for a frozen cafe du monde, it’s delis every time. The price is constantly going up - so it’s a luxury for a cup of Java there.

We went through the drive thru and ordered the beignets, iced mocha and the frozen mocha. It was all delicious!

Everything was fine except the orange juice. Tasted a little spoiled. We all took a sip and agreed it was off. We have been to this location a few times and have always had minor issues with a particular staff member and her attitude. Today I went up and just asked for fruit punch instead because I think the OJ turned. This particular person (who wasn’t assisting me) scoffed and said ain’t nothing wrong with that orange juice. Completely rude. Sad thing is there was definitely something wrong with it and none of the staff tried it. They just kept serving it.

My first experience n it was delicious 😋

I passed through the area on a very long road trip, and I thought it might be nice to grab some coffee and a bite to keep me going. Unfortunately, I can’t say I’d choose to go to this Cafe Du Monde again…

The service was fine. A little slow, but fine. The beignets were decent. But the coffee was just terrible. It was WAY too hot. Like completely burnt hot. I had to wait ages for it to be drinkable, and once I could drink it, I realized how bitter and burnt it was.

The sad thing is, the original Cafe Du Monde is awesome. This offshoot location just doesn’t capture the greatness for me… at all.

I'm traveling from Virginia back to Houston and we decided to stop for Beignets. We found ourself at Cafe Du Monde in Covington,LA. I have never been here and everyone was super friendly. Kevin assisted me with all my questions and even let me sample the famous cold coffees Au Lait and the mocha. I would recommend the mocha and stopping for the freshly made Beignets.

This is truly a unique place and absolutely worth a visit! The café has preserved its historic atmosphere.
In one portion there are 3 beignets.
You can buy a coffee and a mug there.

Beignets and chicory coffee were both hot and yummy. We got our order very fast and the lady at the counter was very friendly and helpful.
