Went here two evenings in a row, while I was visiting a relative in the nearby hospital. Staff was very kind. Accommodating. And personable. The food was amazing. Portions were HUGE. Sometimes I forget that about Louisiana portions. 😆

The muffaletta which y'all I always advertise as fresh made, is proportion sized and fixed days before the food is served. It wasn't even put in a sandwich press, the tiramisu was frozen I had to wait 15 minutes before I could eat it the tiramisu. The chicken cardonblue was chicken nuggets cut in half, with out of the rest of the ingredients for this type of sandwich. If I would have known any of this beforehand I would have gone somewhere else for my Birthday lunch.

I invited five family members to join me this past Sunday for my birthday at 1:00. First the bad parts: we had six people and were given five menues, after ordering drinks, the waitress took our order, when the salads were served there was no bread and butter nor flatware to help get the lettuce onto a FORK, I ordered blue chesse dressing in was more like mayonaise with a hint of blue chesse but no crumbles, when the main courses were served my veal parmesan was not paneed cutlets but more resembled medallions, it was suppose to be served with seeded bread which never came, my grandson ordered a filet medium, he was served a rib eye well done, yet the bill reflected a filet. The other four meals were acceptable. Then the bill came and the receipt showed non cash $246.02 and cash $236.96, I paid with a debit card (CASH) and was charged $9.06 (3.823%) as a surcharge. In the US it is illegal for merchants to charge a surcharge on a Chase debit card. The Louisiana AG will be getting a letter tomorrow and Chase is working on my $9.06 credit. When I got home the $246.02 was already removed from my account. Not to cause a scene, we left the restaurant, and will never return.

Update: great dinner. I ordered the eggplant parmigiana. It came with a great salad. The eggplant was delicious. The dinner grilled garlic chicken was also delicious. My first time here, I ordered the chicken parm sandwich. I was expecting 1 piece of chicken pounded flat and breaded. It was all cut up on the bread with very little cheese. Not impressed.

This is my first time, and we were so tired, that we chose take-out and went back to the Airbnb. That being said, the greeter was friendly, the restaurant atmosphere is very nice, ample parking, and the Muffuletta, soup and potato salad was delicious. You have to get the mushrooms!!! Worth the extra. Before we leave the area, we definitely will return for dine-in.

Walked in at 11:00am ordered takeout. Sat at the bar waiting for my order thinking I’ll have something to drink. I was completely ignored. I asked if anyone is tending bar to get served. I overheard the hostess wishing she was retired. And wanting it to be 1:00 . I assume she wanted to go home before she ever got started. Beautiful place but hostess stunts the ambiance. Prices are very high for the place as a whole. This place needs some management leadership.
