This place is okay. Definitely not the best in Louisiana but good if ur hungry. I had the. Shrimp and grits. The sauce was decent the sausage in the grits was a little hard. Great customer service. Staff was very friendly, and restaurant was clean.
Absolutely delicous!! Waitress Hailey was one of the best we have had. She went out of her way to give us a list of great restaurants around town- which we used. We had the peacemaker- and the chicken was too die for!! We I had something with eggs, chips, shrimp, pica guacamole, and sour cream and it was so so good!!! I would come back everyday if I could!!
This place is the worst place I have ever been to, Please do not go to it. when we entered we were told there was a 20 minute wait, we sat at the bar and noticed that people (White) who came in after us were seated, finally after 30 minutes the hostess came up to us and asked us if we still needed to be seated, this was after the cafe started clearing out of people, she walked my family to a table that was near a back door in the restaurant, while I paid the tab at the bar. The waitress came to our table and my husband asked if she could give us a minute because I was paying the bill at the bar, she left and when I returned to the table we waited 20 more minutes, no water, no silverware. I got up to find waitress, she was standing around doing nothing, I told her we was ready to order, she said to me, that my family said we needed a minute, I told her that it has been 20 minutes and we were ready to order, she came to our table with big time attitude, we simply told her that we would just like to order, she then told us that she was sensing attitude and told us that she did not want to serve us and would get the manager to serve us, we waited 5 minutes no one came to the table we walked out. This is the worse customer service that I have ever experienced. I will never go to place again, we went to the Broken Egg down the street and was treated like kings and queens.
This was a great location for brunch. Girls trip, sister, daughter and cousins, celebrating a birthday, Kudos to Kareem, our waiter, he was the BEST!!!
Excellent Breakfast! Eating in NO, we wanted to sample different things. My gulf shrimp omelette and grits were great. The waiter and entire staff was friendly and down to earth. A great place to eat!
Had the biscuits, gravy, and fried chicken dish and it was DELICIOUS. The biscuits were the best I've ever had, the gravy was savory and had a perfect consistency, and the fried chicken had a light crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. They make the biscuits from scratch each morning, you can tell from how fluffy and fresh they taste. Can't wait to come back when I'm back in town.
Had lunch earlier today at Broad Street location. We were sat 15 mins before end of service. We both worked at restaurants (Me for 12 years) and understand that restaurant was trying to close. Server tells us not to worry, that she won't rush us. We order right then. My friend, asked for his eggs lightly poached. Took 10 minutes to get 2 iced teas (served in go cups). As there were only 2 other tables there, we knew we wouldn't waste time. Within less than 10 minutes, our food was up on the line. There it sat for 15-20 minutes. During that time, there was a screaming match from the kitchen that almost turned into a fight. By the time our server decided to deliver our food, my friends eggs were well done golf balls. Mine were over hard/medium with little yolk to run out. Food was delivered in go containers which made it difficult to get a knife in to cut the biscuits, which were obviously cooked 6 hours ago and had no heat left in them. The toppings on the benedicts were fairly tasty and would have been great if they weren't luke warm at best. Server did not check back, and we tried to eat as quickly as possible. After 20 minutes of not seeing her, we started wondering if she had left. 2 other servers had come in and out several times, (once chasing each other like teenagers). When our server finally returned we asked for our check. Check included the Candy Pig bacon that we ordered, but never received. Asked her to remove bacon and refill our empty iced teas. After another 5 mins, she returned with adjusted check and 2 new iced teas. Being a New Orleans native, trying to show a best friend who comes to town 5 or more time a year a good breakfast/lunch place, I was embarrassed. I eat out 3-5 times weekly and will say with no hesitation that this was one of the worst experiences of service I have ever had. I have eaten at Ruby 8 or 10 times in the past, but will not be going back.
Came here for brunch before we left New Orleans. Let me say that you should hit this location, because all the ones downtown & in the French Quarter have RIDICULOUS waits. Pulled up here and waited literally five minutes. We both had the sazerac which was good. Next up, we started with the french toast bites. Let me say I could've just had a whole plate of these & been satisfied! Would go back just for those. But my wife got the fried chicken & pulled pork bendicts. She said the chicken benny was great, the pork a little too salty. I got the stuffed french toast. The brioche bread was a little too soft for my liking, but it was good. Also had cheese grits and breakfast potatoes, both really good. I'd definitely come back, bit wouldn't wait two hours to be seated as you will for the Grench quarter locations. Definitely recommend!
Best Ruby Slipper of all of them in the City! From some reason other Ruby Slippers locations think they invented breakfast and expect you to wait hours for mediocre eggs benedict, on top of some of the rudest staffs around. The Location is the exact opposite! Stopped by at 9 in the morning on a game day and were great by the most welcoming smiles in the business and sat immediately. The waitress was on top of everything from refills, to suggestions, all while working many other tables. We never felt ignored or inconvenienced. Food came out hot and delicious to complete the great over all experience. Doesn't matter if you are staying down town or even across the street from another Ruby location, this is the one you need to go to!
We decided to drive to this location since the one downtown had a 90 minute wait. We were seated upon arrival (we had used their place your name in line online option before leaving our hotel). My wife had the bananas foster pain perdu and coffee. I had the bayou shrimp Benedict. Both came is large portions and were very good. Our waiter Jack was very friendly and attentive. This location is actually set behind the Main Street in its address, so go to the corner of the block and there will be a parking lot on your right for The Ruby Slipper. This location is less than 10 minutes from the warehouse district by car.

In town with the ARC and decided this was going to be my start meal for a long two weeks working with evacuees. Nothing about this place was negative. I did drive around the block twice before I figured out where the entrance was (just me). Carlos was excellent. I had the barbecue shrimp with grits (when in LA - grits), the biscuit and side order of bacon onion jam to try with my biscuit. Yum! Only thing missing was something green. Not the healthiest option but sooo good. Outside dining was nice as the weather was gorgeous. A must try when in NOLA.
You can always count on great friendly service as well as leaving full. Staff is very dog friendly and quick to bring a bowl of water. Of the locations in town this is our favorite as it is perfectly set up for seating with our dogs.
Stopped here for brunch; my daughter and cousin tried the location in New Orleans and said we needed to try this location. We enjoyed mimosas: Peach Bellini and the Ruby Mimosa, the drinks were tasty. As an opener we had the candy bacon bites, which were delicious. I had the Southern Breakfast which was good but don't settle for basic, try something new. My cousin had Stuffed French Toast and my daughter had Cochon. Get the Cochon!!! It was DELICIOUS!
Amazing brunch! Everything about this restaurant was great! My friend and I came for Mardi Gras 2020, so naturally it was packed. We didn't have to wait too long and while we waited there were lawn games, drinks being served at a table outside, very cool atmosphere. Once inside we got our food and drinks pretty quickly and it was all so delicious. The mimosas were to die for! We came back multiple times during our stay. Would highly recommend.
When we landed at the airport on a business trip, we asked the uber driver where to have brunch. She immediately recommended the Ruby Slipper Cafe. We walked there on a Sunday morning and it was truly an amazing experience. The restaurant was full and we were happy to sit at the bar. Never felt rushed, had an enjoyable time talking to people from all over. I had the Bananas Foster Pain Perdu and my husband had the Cinnamon Roll pancakes. I finished every...delicious...drop of my breakfast including the amazing 2 slices of bacon that came with it. The breakfast potatoes were fabulous as well. The cinnamon roll pancakes were too much for my husband, LOL. He could only eat one plus the bacon. The coffee was absolutely delicious as well. HIGHLY recommend this excellent restaurant.
