My mom has been admitted twice. The first time she was in there for a stroke like event. The hospital staff allowed her to lay in her own urine for who knows how long. It wasn't until I noticed that her wick tank was full and checked her myself that I noticed she was laying in a soaking bed. She is in there again for an undiagnosed reason. She also developed two bed sores because they didn't roll her every two hours like they're supposed to. This time they took her for a stress test and had to unhook her IV. That was early this morning. It wasn't until I visited her late this afternoon and asked if she should still be on IV that they even noticed. They re-hooked her up. The negligence of this hospital is disgusting and should not be tolerated. Take your loved ones ANYWHERE else.

The Dr and nurses did a wonderful job in the caring of their patients. Head nurse Tina on the third floor however, is very short with people and is very rude in my opinion.

I did not feel safe or respected as a human by the staff while I was vulnerable.

Shelby Jones in HR is very unprofessional. My phone is set to block unknown callers. After seeing her message that she called, I immediately called back. No answer. I left a Voicemail and saved her number. That way my phone wouldn’t go straight to voicemail for when she returned my call. I called at least 2 more times at different times that day. I waited all day and no call back. Then she sends me an invite to schedule a call. Which was like 4 days away. So I scheduled it and was waiting for the call, when that day arrived. She never called. I called her and ofcourse didn’t get an answer. I received an email saying that she attempted to call me. She claimed that she attempted that day and got sent to the voicemail. But I didn’t have any missed calls that day at all. And I had been waiting for her to call since the scheduled time. Then this morning I received an email stating that she’s pulled my application from being considered because she attempted to contact me. Everything happens for a reason. That must be god showing me that I didn’t need that job.

My mother and I both have been hospitalized here in the last year and are both very satisfied with the care and compassion we received. Dr's, nursing staff, and other hospital workers have been incredible each stay. Highly recommend.

I wanted to take a minute to thank and recommend St Tammany Hospital and their staff for the care we received. In the several incidents over the last decade and very recently. The care level and staff have been exceptional.

When we left this time I had a pizza party for them.

I hope when the lay awake many years from now and think of their careers, that it is the gratitude of those they helped they will remember and not just the hard work.

Thank you sincerely.

I’ve had to come here many times this year unfortunately and have no health insurance. I’m very aware of my bills and have been keeping track of them all year. Now all of a sudden they want to claim I owe over $50,000 when MyChart says it’s well under $30,000 for all dates this year? They claim they sent $30,000 to the collection agency, yet when I call them they said they only received $10,000 which is exactly what it says on MyChart. I try to do the financial aid packet and they want to argue with me on the phone about the documents I need when I’m literally reading verbatim from their own paperwork what I need to submit. Then they say they refuse to do a payment plan under $1000 per month. Insanity. Even the debt collector was willing to do under $100 per month. I would like to work with the hospital to get this paid but at this rate I’m looking at filing for bankruptcy. Which I’m sure the hospital wouldn’t want because then they don’t get paid, no?

This the best hospital ever!! I don’t care what the reviews say!! I was having a mild stroke and they were on top of it. Thank you to all the staff and doctors!! I hope nothing happens to me but if it do I’m going back there!!! Truly awesome people from the ER to the rooms. They kept on asking me if I was ok and kept on reassuring me that everything was going to be ok. I like everyone from security to the nurses and doctors.

Was in the hospital for 2 weeks. Every one was so great.

My mom came in over concerns of another stroke. Fortunately she did not have one! This is not a new occurrence and unfortunately we have been through this a few times. As the POA I was speaking with staff on whether to place her in hospice or try for PT again. I specifically told them I wanted to do PT and gave them the name of the facility. Well, I missed a phone call today and a voicemail was left asking me to call back concerning her discharge. When I called back they told me she was sent back to the facility she was staying at…? Each time we have made these trips to the hospital (not this hospital), the staff made sure I was part of the decision and she went to PT. Let me add that she is such cognitive impairment that she rarely knows who I am. In addition to this when I called Emily in General Medicine she lied and said they called me several times. I had one missed call. I called back to ask more questions maybe 5 minutes later and the next nurse told me she was gone for the day….. yeah ok. I asked to speak to someone that could explain the discharge process and I was told to call back in the morning. I sent my mom here bc everyone said it was the best hospital but she will be going back to Lakeview if she needs to go back again.

This is NOT a HIGH STRESS LEVEL ER. I worked at Mount Sinai Medical in NYC.
HONESTLY One is better off going to the New Orleans city zoo than coming here.
There’s is a minimum of 5.5 hour wait time. Just to maybe get a bed. 5.5 hours so far.
Yes they have the better equipment to diagnose more problems with the body.
All I needed was an MRI. got here at 8:30pm.
Good news is after four(4) hours of suffering they’re allowed to give you one Tylenol to ease the pain for sitting in the ER waiting room.
Next step is to get a room. And once there you will also sit for a hours and hours on end. Just to maybe get an MRI.

HAD TWO random individuals just collapse. Once they did collapse, they were rush into the back, To wait even longer!

Why waste the time to write this up?
Because here I’m thinking this place was better than the New Orleans city zoo!!!
Be warned you will suffer even longer before getting actual help here. Don’t show here with high expectations!
Better yet. Just don’t show!
These high paid hospital administrators are doing a terrible job at managing patients. Finally got walked to the back, empty rooms everywhere. N staff jusy playing on their phones or pretending to be busy.
Now the wait begins again. Only this time in a room.

Took my daughter to Dr. McCall McDaniel, about a mile from STPH, for follow-up from urgent care. Took xray, Dr. McDaniel read xray, told me all was well, sent us on our way. Later I got a bill for >$350, not the usual copay I was expecting. I was told that since STPH owns the xray equipment, the visit was considered a hospital visit. So, I was charged $50 specialist copay + hospital visit copay + a percentage of the cost for the radiologist to read xray (that Dr. McDaniel read in front of my face). Talked to doc office, STPH, and BCBS.....all in on it. None would even admit that what happened was wrong or unethical (or fraud). Finally contacted STPH patient advocacy, and they were extremely nice, normal, helpful. They convinced doc McDaniel to do a better job of telling her patients that they would be fraudulently charged for a hospital visit when they came to her office. They also convinced STPH to give me a 50% discount on the fake hospital visit. So, I ended up having to pay the $50 specialist copay + 50% of the hospital visit that never happened. Better but I'm bitter, and when me or my family actually needs a hospital, it won't be STPH because I don't trust them anymore.

I do not know WHY you would allow someone to sit at an admit desk in an emergency room department when they CLEARLY hate either their job, people, or both!!! The way I witnessed Jamie or however her name is spelled treat people made me think again about me or my family being seen in this emergency room. What gives this person the right to be nasty in an emergency setting????? Ok. You're busy. It's an ER! Who works on an ER level and treats people like something they stepped in because they are behind the admitting desk? Never again will I step foot into this location after the spectacle I witnessed and how this person was treating people. We decided better of being treated here and I took my sick family member elsewhere! An ER WHERE we weren't greeted with annoyance and disgust as Jamie was greeting people behind her admit desk. I can only hope she doesn't shoo someone who was already not wanting to be seen but had finally gotten the courage to want help. DO BETTER ST TAMMANY!

Great place as a customer and a service provider

If I could give 0 stars I would. What's considered a medical EMERGENCY when you are waiting for 8 hours to see if you are having a stroke... This makes no sense. To be transported from one facility by ambulance to sit in the lobby and still wait.
