We are from Texas but our friend from New Orleans took us here and we were not disappointed! Everything we had was great. The blackened salmon was cooked to perfection. The seafood lasagna was to die for. The etoufee was good as well. My husband loved his drink he had the sweet heat margarita (we think that's the name). When we visit again, this place will be on our radar. Oh and there is a cool little walking path after you're full to the gills.

Really a tranquil place no matter what time, offer a wide range of meals and seating outside for winter and summer occasions. Great place with a riverside view. They have plenty of servers for a speedy meal.

Charley P. was absolutely amazing! His service stood out so much that even my 10-year-old daughter noticed and wanted to leave him a tip—that says a lot. We had young children with us, and he was incredibly patient, kind, and attentive the entire time.

He was also extremely knowledgeable about the menu and took the time to go into detail about the dishes I asked about, which really helped me step outside my comfort zone.

And the food… OMG. It exceeded my expectations in every way. I even have leftover seafood lasagna and can’t wait to get home and eat it 😄 I was skeptical at first because I’m a creature of habit and wasn’t sure about trying something different, but I’m so glad Charley hyped it up the way he did—my goodness, he was right.

Honestly, I can’t even complain about the wait time because everything from the service to the food was just that good. An overall great experience, and Charley truly made it memorable.

We love chimes and always go there and The food is always.good. On our last visit, My husband got the salmon Poboy, which he gets regularly and it tasted fishy and llike it was old. We did tell our server. We were very disappointed.

This was my first Louisiana meal and it didn't disappoint. It seemed authentic to me. The bacon wrapped shrimp with jambalaya was solid!

It was too cold to eat outside, but the deck is sweet.

We will definitely go again next time we are in Covington.

Stopped in after work for a drink and some reading. Nayla was a wonderful server and made sure I was taken care of appropriately and made sure to make me not feel rushed because they closed in about an hour by the time i arrived. I recommend stopping in to grab a bite and definitely recommend Nayla to take care of you for some great service!

This rustic restaurant with views overlooking the Bogue Falaya River offers a nice selection of Louisiana dishes, seafood and a vast beer menu. The roasted oysters were delicious and the seafood gumbo is authentic. We had a table of 7 and everyone was pleased with the food. Service was good and very accommodating. The rustic atmosphere fits perfectly in the cypress surrounding of the river. That does mean uncomfortable charis though. Food was a 4, the atmosphere is 4+ because of the views and service was a 4. We will be back!

Based on reviews that I read, I expected much better than the what I found, at every level. To me, the restaurant is floating on past rave reviews, or may e they reserve the better service for people they deem worthy... I don't want to jump to conclusions but my party may not have met their expectations. But facts are this: we booked a reservation through Google, arrived about 20 minutes early. They told us our table would not be ready and we would not be seated until our reservation time. Meanwhile, at least 5 other parties arrived and we're seated promptly. At our reservation time, they did not call my cell, which they asked the number of, nor did they speak up and ask for John, party of 5, I had to go back up to them, tell them again who we were, mind you that I was in the foyer, 8 feet away the whole time, and they checked us in like we just walked in and had no idea we were there waiting. Ok, so we get seated, and we chose the patio for the ambiance. Sadly, our table was only partially under the heater and many of us were cold the entire meal. The waitress did ok but by no means was it great service. The oysters were good but not great. I was intrigued by the pork chops with special glaze but sadly I made a poor choice. The meat was cooked OK. Not great but not quite friend out... thank goodness it was a thicker pork chop... but the sauce was not to my taste at all. The cauliflower side I ordered was seasoned well, but lack of attention to preparing the dish was obvious. Cuts pieces were inconsistent and looked like they may have dropped it in a blender for 10 seconds. There didnt seem to be any oil or butter used, so seasoning didnt stick well but the pieces stuck to each other and the dish really well. At the end of the meal, a few people wanted their leftovers... not me, and so we got the to go boxes. Then our waitress seemed to forget that meant we should be paying the check also because she disappeared for 15 minutes, and eternity when you are waiting for nothing more than to pay and leave, then she showed up and we had to ask for the check... really!?!? If you're a regular and they take good care of you and you already know the dishes that you like, then great, enjoy, all yours. For new people, I would suggest you skip it and find an Olive Garden or so.e other chain as you'll like the food and service better there. I don't know the nice places in this area well enough to suggest another.
