My husband surprise me with a lovely lunch here yesterday, and I could not be more impressed if I tried. From the seclusion of the back entrance to the lovely greeting host to our lovely waitstaff to the food—oh my goodness!!!! So good it was insanely delicious. -Margaret

We haven't been to Dakota's f quite some time. I loved the decor and felt immediately comfortable when we walked in. The service, the drinks, and the food were fabulous. The only little thing that bothered me was that where we were seated was pretty chilly.
Our server, Jennifer, was outstanding and helped us choose between a couple of entrees when we couldn't quite decide. We started with Tuna Tartare and were not disappointed, it was outstanding. The Salmon Meunière with its crispy skin was delicious as was the Crab Grill sandwich. Can't wait to return for another wonderful lunch or maybe dinner next time.
Love this restaurant. Fine dining at its best. The food and cocktails were amazing. Try the Tyler Street - so good! I had the halibut special and it was outstanding. Second time we had Jennifer as our server. She is so nice and you should definitely ask for her.
Great service and the food is impecable.

Always a fantastic experience. Great service, wonderful food. Last night's special may be the best they've had yet (Snapper with Crab & Brie Rissotto)
First visit, and likely not my last—but disappointing overall. We went for a New Year's Eve dinner without realizing it was a fixed menu. While there's a $75 no-show fee, we still waited 30 minutes past our reservation to be seated, which felt one-sided. Fixed menus are fine, but for $110 per person, the lack of flexibility and being required to place the entire order immediately felt rushed and uncomfortable. Food was mixed: the pork belly with salad was good, the strip steak was decent but had an unappealing gravy that tasted canned, and the mushroom dish was just okay. The banana foster was a miss—essentially a biscuit in sauce—while the crêpe was decent. Additionally, the red snapper was also not a hit in my book. The restaurant came highly recommended, so this may have been an off-night due to NYE. I'd consider trying it again outside of a holiday, but I don't plan to return anytime soon.
The Dakota was fabulous. The service was top notch, the food was amazing, and the restaurant is beautifully decorated and cozy.

Fantastic meal with even better friends! Worth the drive up from New Orleans and the time spent in Covington. We will be back! Food and atmosphere was top notch and surpassed expectations.

Love The Dakota. The food is really good. I had the scallops the first time I went when it was on Hwy 190 in Covington. They have moved to Old Town Covington a few years ago but still good. I ike the redfish and soft shell crab they were very good. Nice elegant atmosphere. Highly reccommemd
