This was my 8th or more visit. Every time I previously visited I rated this 10 out of 10, sadly my recent visit didn't live up to my previous experiences. Previously I was welcomed in by numerous employees, it always felt more special than other places I frequent, however this visit there was no welcome, and the only thing said to me was, "what side?" I'm very happy I found this place on the drive from Houston to NOLA. I typically stop at Scott for boudin and food but wasn't going to make it before closing time. I stumbled upon this after stopped by a Starbucks and I am so happy I did. The chicken and sausage gumbo was on point... a huge 32 oz container for only $8.99 and it was so rich, hot, and just warmed my whole body up with the delicious base. Good omelette, biscuit, & potatoes. Coffee was pretty decent as well. Beignets were disappointing, but ok. Gravy was nearly inedible. Friendly service. Local customers seemed offended someone from out of town would deign to eat there.
