Kacie was excellent in securing a large dining table for my party. She rapidly responded to emails! Parker's service was absolutely wonderful. All of my guests enjoyed themselves and I felt very special celebrating my birthday here!

Food was outstanding! My wife had the wedge salad and filet, I had the house special salad and the flounder special. We split the banana crème pie for dessert(over the top). The service was slow, I think mostly was due to lack of waiters/waitress's. I was disappointed in that the occasion was our 38th wedding anniversary and that was never mentioned by anyone.

Was looking forward to dining in the beautiful big dining area but the girl wanted to sit us right on top of another couple when the place was all empty.I'm sure the other couple wanted their privacy also, the two tables were so close I could touch their table.It was our anniversary we didn't want to eat with strangers. I asked for a more private table and went sit us in the green room. That area was not what I was planning on. They should ask where we rather be sitting for that price.

This is a favorite restaurant of ours. We visit every time we come New Orleans way. It rivals any of the restaurants in the city. The Eggplant Napoleon and French Martinis are my favorite.

Two of us took our mothers, who are in their mid nineties, for lunch. It's was so nice to have Houmas house have a golf cart to shuttle us to the Carriage house restaurant and back. Our waitress, Lauren was very nice, knowledgeable, and efficient. The restaurant is a higher price than some lunch spots, so be aware of this. I knew this because we have dined here before . The food is always excellent. The food, service, and experience never disappoints us.

My wife and I celebrated our 34th anniversary at Houmas House. We started in the Turtle Bar for cocktails and then dined in the Carriage House. We highly recommend the Crab Cake & Mango for an appetizer. I had the Red Fish entree, which was excellent. My wife had the Eggplant Napoleon, which she loved. And of course, Bread Pudding for dessert. We live in Baton Rouge, and we have been to Houmas House many times. If you're not used to summer heat in South Louisiana, I would suggest walking the grounds in the Spring or Fall.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious dinner in the cozy study just off the main dining room. Gumbo and crab mango cakes for starters; redfish and eggplant napoleon for entrees - I'd recommend them all. I was eager to try the pistachio cake after reading reviews, but this was a disappointment - it tasted too much of extract and the texture was too wet. We stayed overnight in a king room with private porch - what a lovely way to wind down a weekend of travel.

Stopped at the turtle bar for a cocktail before our reservations, bartender rude, not pleasant, blunt and not very personable /professional, overall she was not worthy of a tip ( even tho I did give her a little something). I thought it was just me but two other family members returned at separate times for another drink and got the same treatment. Our service at the Carriage House was the opposite, Reed (our server)was great! Very pleasant,sweet, assertive, on queue, professional. Thank you Reed for making our Mother's Day a memorable one. We enjoyed our service and interaction with you. Water server was always there on time even before our glasses got half emptied. Food was very good, dessert too. Will be back but not to the turtle bar!!

This was a dinner with my family for our anniversary and Mothers Day. I wanted to return to the Carriage House for the eggplant dish and was looking forward to it, but I am very disappointed. The bartenders, groundskeepers, wait staff were all exhausted from a wedding and told us as much. We were the last seating for the evening and our first choice for appetizers, the onion rings were out. We Dec it faded on the tartare, and the waitperson made a face- we should have followed her lead. It was mostly brown guacamole with a few chucks of tuna. My husband wanted pasta, she talked him into the more expensive ribs. I got the eggplant which had gone up in price to 36 and was a much smaller serving than v b for, but still had a nice portion of crabmeat. My son ordered a stuffed pork chop. The stuffing was a scant amount of boudin which tasted ok, but not a TV all enough for the price. Just terrible. It is a shame since the chef has always been point on. Very lackluster and tired. I'm a local and won't be back.

Best crab cakes anywhere! The entire menu has never been disappointing. The grounds, gardens and ambience are the crown jewel of the deep south.  My highest recommendation.

Our server Lauren was impeccable. We had the first reservation of the lunch time so it started off quiet but as it filled up it got loud. But our food was amazing. Absolutely no complaints. The decor of The Carriage House is so beautiful. There were times we just sat and looked at it all. What a lovely meal.
