The best omelet I have had in the area. I usually get a side of tomato gravy and pour that on top of the omelet. Haven't seen tomato gravy at any other restaurant in the area. It was nice to see and even better to enjoy.

It's the " breakfast place all the locals go to" really great prices for the serving of food you get, pancakes and biscuits are 10/10Parking: It's apart of an old shopping center, plenty of parkingKid-friendliness: Walking to the place, it seems like it's just a "good old family resturant"Wheelchair accessibility: Doors are wide enough, tables have plenty of space between them.

Very smoky. Food was ok. Grits were lumpy. There were more blueberries than there was pancake. I ordered 2 eggs over medium with bacon and a croissant as my bread. Got a sandwich. Very disappointed. Waitress wrote it down right, kitchen messed it up. Didn't want to wait to make it right. It was ok. Waitress was very nice. My grandson enjoyed the food.

It's very smoky on the inside. Need better ventilation in the building.(Never been here before) Upon entering, the staff seemed oblivious to the fact we were there. When the lady at the counter finally looked around, she seemed to be in la la land, she told us we could seat ourselves. There's no signage at the entrance stating anything to know any better. She then said she would send a server our way. 10 mins go by one server was asking tables if they were alright. She approached ours, and I told her we haven't been served. She had to go get someone from the back.Good food. Didn't expect to wait an hr for it. I get they were busy, but an update would've been nice. I eventually had to tell the server if we dont have food in 10 mins, we have to leave. Not to be rude, we had an appt to go to.Overall, would I want to go back again, eh.

Loved the first couple times we went to James Grill. The last two times we went we waited an hour before someone come to our table to our table to get a drink order. Food took about 45m-1 hr to get our food (& we order only eggs, grits, bacon). Every time we ordered bacon (every visit), they tell us "heres your food and we are waiting for bacon". Bacon shows up at the end of the meal. By the end of the meal, the whole day is shot and you are pissed. My husband has found a hair in his buttered toast. I wanted to tell them but he said "dont bother" & pushed the toast to the side. They usually have 2 waitresses, 1 bus boy, and about 10 people in the kitchen area. Idk why it takes so long, but me and my husband wont be back. And my sis lives down the road and orders out from them. She ordered 2 grilled cheese and they told her it would be an hour. She said for grilled cheese? & canceled the order. She said she wont order from them again. They are losing a lot of business bc I have seen people just get up and leave bc they are tired of waiting for someone to take their order or for their food.If this continues, I see the restaurant going out of business because the word of mouth can be your best or worst advertisement.

I had never been here before nor did I know this home cooked place existed. I got to the restaurant around 7:45 am and didn't know whether to seat my self or wait. After a few others came in and seated themselves I asked if I was allowed to sit at the bar which I did. I waited about 2 min before being asked if I wanted a drink which was quiet fast. After I got my coffee I had to wait nearly 10-15 min before I saw someone and they took my order. I wasn't upset as I've worked in the service industry all my life. After ordering my food I was approached by 4 waitresses on several occasions asking if I already ordered, what I ordered, saying my food would be out soon. Then the line cooks didn't seem to excited when 4 different people were asking g about my food. I took note of how many tickets were up only 6 at the time and i had already been waiting about 20mins for my food. The gentleman next to me told me that he thought they forgot about me since I arrived before him and ordered right after him. This kind old man even repeated my order back to me and I never verbally told him. How is it he can remember my exact order but 4 waitresses cannot. After finally gettting my food after waiting nearly an hour I wasn't surprised at the low quality. My bacon was cold, my bread was cold, the grits and eggs were great and for once my eggs were cooked correct at a restaurant. The worse part was my french toast. They drenched it so much in the batter that the center was sopping wet. I have never had such wet french toast before. Other than that, the flavor wasn't bad at all. To add to customer service and atmosphere, I personally think they need to take a look at how the floor functions. Servers were all over the place taking while to get to anyone, assign table sections. The bus boys, they seemed very disappointed to be there. I watched them clean a few tables and it was worse than a toddler. At least the child would rub the towel around and try to clean it. Neither of them even looked at the table they were cleaning. Honestly the lacked complete effort for simple task they were presented. The kitchen style, they should reconsider. Yeah it's interesting to have an open plan, but I think it made me more irritated seeing what what was happening and typically if there us a resturant where i can see them prepare food i sit there because its interesting. Grease also seemed to be everywhere. And there was hardly anything to keep the food hot, all food was placed on a counter for plating up and pickup. Overall, spent over an hour in the resturant and most of it was waiting on my food . I watched so many come, eat, and leave before i ever got my meal. Id rather go to waffle house or a differet diner around the parish. I don't really have anything postive to say other than everyone who came in contact with me was friendly even other guest.Kid-friendliness: Allowed and have highchairsWheelchair accessibility: They have a small ramp upon entering the building
