First time at this location and the last time I went to the one in Lake Charles was about 14 years ago. Great service and the food was quite good. I will surely be back for more of that banana pudding.

Such a beautiful place with lots of authentic collection that represents its name....
Most of its staff seem somewhat kind but not very eager to assist/ please.
The bathrooms were sorta clean enough and could be better stocked.
I'd imagine the manager surely just hadn't been able to check up on the simpler yet critical areas that keep consumers coming back.
It took a very long time for our food to arrive and it was obviously not brought out immediately when set on the ready order placement.
Guess we didn't go on a good day.
I've managed as well as worked every position in many Family Oriented Louisiana Restaurants and know how critical it is to work as a Team and keep it fun amongst one another.
Work is difficult enough without making it and harder.
So this restaurant has the potential to be a GREAT DINING EXPERIENCE and it likely is on other days, but when a crew works in clicks....the confusion will show up in several negative ways.

The food is very, very good but the entry to the restaurant is filthy with cigarette buts everywhere and plant debris. The men’s room is horrible. I’m sure the urinal is the grossest I’ve seen in years and stinks and hasn’t been cleaned maybe for months or longer. Again the food should get a 4 star, but clean the place up.

I had the fried mushrooms, Gator pieces, the budin balls, and captains platter to try all the seafood. It was all so delicious, seasoned and cooked to perfection. The service was quick and friendly.

Was in the mood for char grilled oysters. "If you know then you know " goes the saying. They were excellent. A tad pricey and small but good. $24 for a dozen.

Was there with Beauregard Parish District 4. Delicious food and service!

Had an enjoyable lunch shrimp plate with red beans and rice. Price was about $14 per person. Waitress was attentive. Only wish the AC was working better.

We enjoyed the alligator appetizer,( so tender and delicious ) boudin balls and etoufee were new to us as we are from New Mexico. Definitely a highlight to enjoy a meal there!
