I want to start this review with complete honesty — our experience with Ormand Manor began a little rocky. Early on, we faced some communication challenges and were unsure how things would come together. But then everything changed when the venue made some personnel updates and we were introduced to Boyd, our new director. From that moment forward, it was like night and day.
Boyd is, in every sense of the word, phenomenal. Professional, attentive, and genuinely caring, he went above and beyond to make sure our wedding day was everything we dreamed of and more. We have worked with a lot of people in our lives, but we've rarely been so impressed by someone’s level of dedication and calm under pressure. He truly bent over backwards for us — every question was answered, every detail was handled, and every small request was met with a smile and a solution.
On our actual wedding day, I didn’t have to look around, worry, or ask what was next — the Ormand Manor team had it all under control. I felt completely at peace knowing everything was being handled with care and precision. And it wasn’t just Boyd; the entire staff operated like a well-oiled machine, ensuring that every part of the day flowed perfectly.
What really stood out was how they handled the weather. It rained right up until about 30 minutes before our ceremony. Most venues would have defaulted to the backup plan, but Boyd and his team jumped into action the moment the skies cleared. They moved chairs, reset everything, and somehow turned our dream of an outdoor wedding into a beautiful reality — all without missing a beat. Watching them work together so quickly and professionally left us absolutely speechless.
From catering to coordination, every single detail was handled with flexibility, kindness, and a genuine desire to make our day special. They didn’t just meet expectations — they far exceeded them.
We will forever be grateful to Boyd, Vickey, and the entire Ormand Manor staff for giving us a wedding day that felt effortless, elegant, and completely unforgettable. What started off uncertain became one of the most beautifully executed days of our lives, all thanks to this incredible team.
If you’re considering Ormand Manor for your wedding — do it. And if you get the pleasure of working with Boyd, know that you’re in the absolute best hands.
I had breakfast at the establishment. The restaurant is available, and while the menu is not extensive, it offers a sufficient selection.
I wish I could give Ormond Manor 10 stars! Honestly surprised we were able to book somewhere this beautiful for the affordable price. The room was beautiful with doors that opened to a gorgeous porch with rocking chairs, peaceful evening sounds, and huge trees adorning the whole place. Southern comfort was real! We appreciated Aaliyah's insight about the local Alligator Festival and took our niece to enjoy what looked like a movie set iconic fair! Breakfast was perfect! Highly recommend staying here!
Nice restaurant, great food , across the street there is the leave you can see the mississippi river with a walking or bike path.
I am writing this as a warning to other couples looking for a venue. We initially selected Ormond Manor as our venue for our microwedding, and this was the worst decision we could have made. Everything we did was based on this location that is at least an hour drive for everyone, so I also based our vendors in that area. I paid my deposit at the end of November and everything was good to go. I sent an email to the coordinator, Lindy, three months before our date to start getting our timeline together as my vendors started requesting timeframes and we had people coming from out of state. I received no response after a week, so I emailed her again, and still no response. The third week rolls around, I email, get no response again, so I call Ormond. I spoke with an employee who instructed me that Lindy was not available, but she will tell her that I called. Still no returned call or email. I call again the next week and speak to the same employee who instructs me that she did give Lindy my message, Lindy is not available, but she will tell her that I really need to speak with her. Still no contact. Based on that, I started freaking out and canceled our contract via email within the timeframe to receive my deposit back. Finally, after almost two months of trying to reach her, I receive a call from a private number. It’s Lindy and she instructs me she must call on a private line “off the record” and that the owners did not approve the contract I had initially signed, they want to now change our wedding and reception to something that either fits what they envision or to charge me double for what we already agreed upon. Also, her reasoning behind not returning my communication was because she “thought I would get the hint.” The conversations literally had a tone of middle school drama that I can’t explain, and I was just absolutely appalled. Keep in mind this is a microwedding, our budget is small, so that deposit was a big deal to us, so no I’m not just going to “take a hint” and leave all my money with you. I am only assuming, but I’m fairly certain they were waiting for me to fall in the timeline of not receiving my deposit back, and THEN telling me they could no longer accommodate us before returning communication. I asked her about receiving our deposit back, and it took my husband getting involved to get any type of response from her. The owners were out of town, which is another excuse I received for well over a month, and the reason I was unable to get my deposit back right away. I disputed the transaction with my credit card company and sent them all the documentation. Ormond never actually reimbursed our money, no apologies from anyone, and it took me disputing the charge to actually get my money back. It took us over three weeks to get our deposit back after I canceled which caused us to miss the window to secure another all-inclusive venue, and remember those vendors I contracted in the area? Yeah, now we had to pay travel charges to them for the new location. With only three weeks left until the wedding I was able to scramble and find a beautiful Airbnb, ordered food for catering, and my AMAZING wedding party and husband were able to throw together the wedding. The reception was nothing like we planned due to the last-minute planning, but it was still a perfect day no thanks to Ormond Manor. On a side note, my husband and I also went there to eat the food, and I am almost grateful this happened, because the food we were served at the restaurant was subpar by Louisiana standards. I work in customer service, and I have NEVER experienced that lack of professionalism. I’m sure other brides may have had wonderful experiences here, but ours was absolutely a nightmare.
Went for a company event. Very nice ballroom.
Awesome scenery, loved the room and the deck. Lindy was amazing and the whole staff made me feel welcome. Great breakfast in the morning too. Wish I could come back!
Beautiful historic place ! Great restaurant and atmosphere ‼️
If you are looking for a quiet place off the beaten path with a historic vibe. This is your place!!! It is a bed and breakfast, but you may end up with the whole plantation to yourself. The food is absolutely fabulous and will definitely be back. Keep in mind that this is a historic location and that they do have historic standards to maintain, and some may look at this as more rustic.
I had my wedding at Ormond Manor and honestly it was one of the biggest headaches I could’ve ever signed up for. I held off on writing this review for a bit to calm down and reflect but I feel I need to say something.
To start the owner tried to make us resign a contract two weeks before the wedding even though we had a contract that was signed with the original owners as well as an updated one that had been signed almost a year before when the new owners took over. Yet he tried to force us to sign a new contract and pay thousands more in order to use the facilities that we originally discussed and were even advertised on the website as included in the rental. Buddy tried to bully us into paying more or he would force us to have the entire reception in the ball room when we had booked it with an outdoor dinner and cocktails on the patio as well as dancing inside. We finally had to show that we had an original contract and threaten legal action and agree to have dinner inside before he would relent.
Other than one bartender who is truly lovely the entirety of the staff are outrageous. From arguing with us and causing a scene when we asked for plates and cups for the wedding parties catered lunch to forgetting to put the drink stand (that we bought and paid for cause the venue didn’t have one) up until after the wedding.
The Bridal attendant who assured my sister in law that she would get my husband when it was time for him and his mother to walk down the aisle completely vanished and thus the entire wedding party was standing at the alter for ten minutes waiting for him and his mother to come down as they waited for the attendant to tell them it was time. I thought my husband had stood me up but no the attendant had just vanished without a trace.
During the reception the wait staff were outside screaming and cussing during the announcement of our wedding party for the reception and the entire wait staff got into an argument right next to the wedding party table in front of everyone cause even though we reprinted the place setting cards to show the guests dinner options on the back no one knew where any of the food went. So a dinner that was supposed to take an hour lasted over two hours.
We paid for a completely open bar only to find out that not only did they refuse to serve any other cocktail other than specialty cocktails that we bought the liquor for, they wouldn’t even serve wine or beer. Thus guests could only choose five drinks.
The wedding party stayed at the venue and we had arranged to have brunch there the next day only to have to sit for two hours with no food while the people in the main dinning hall including my in-laws were served and ate before we even got our second round of drinks. Half our party had to leave to catch flights home before we even got the first appetizer and at that point we decided to leave after a waitress got annoyed that some of our guests had to leave; rudely stating she didn’t realize we had time constraints. We ended up all leaving without eating and I was told the venue would reach out to resolve this yet haven’t heard anything.
The only redeeming quality of this entire situation was Lindy. She is incredible she was the one who basically did everything even when Buddy refused to talk to us while demanding for us to pay more and sign a new contract. She is a god send and honestly the only reason our wedding went half as well as it did. Renter beware the owner will try to renegotiate the price and bully you and the staff are poorly trained to handle anything other than a buffet. Honestly if it weren’t for Lindy we would have scrapped the whole thing and had the wedding somewhere else.

Beautiful setting for the wedding we attended. They made the cocktails the wedding party made up for them all night and they were very good.
The entire place was rented for a wedding I was the Best man in. What a beautiful setting !! The food was amazing!!
Dropped by to check out the manor to potentially stay a night or 2 at a later date. Beautiful building and grounds around the facility. Currently under construction so all the rooms were not finished and crews were working throughout the Manor. Really friendly lady (Lindy) working at the front counter.
I was there for lunch and the food was very good and reasonably priced. Afterwards, a stroll around a lovely courtyard area with gorgeous oak trees. Very friendly restaurant staff.

We were disappointed. We came for lunch for Mother’s Day. A few of our dishes were were warm at best. I asked the waitress if they would please heat it up and it came back the same temperature. A lot of money spent on warm food.
