We ate here on the word of a local that said this place was really good. They lied. I travel all over the country and extensively in the south. I've had some of the best food in small, home cooked, family restaurants. I was extremely disappointed by the price and the quality of their tasteless food. I hate to leave bad reviews but they deserve it here.

Food was absolutely delicious, and everything is cooked fresh from scratch (never frozen). Stopped in on a road trip and was very pleased with everything. Very friendly staff and a wonderful overall experience. Deedy is very hospitable and provided us with a wonderful experience and conversation. After the experience we had, I would recommend anything on her menu.

Ordered the hamburger steak with corn and green beans. The green beans were really the start of the show; I could have ate just a bowl of them and been content! Perfect amount of flavor and heat. Every thing they served was delicious. The staff was friendly and made me feel at home. 10/10 will definitely be stopping again when in the area.

We drove to Eunice to visit Savoy Music. Learned they only open Saturday mornings…this being a Friday we left disappointed and went to find lunch. Ms. Deedy’s looked like a good local spot so we went in. We waited a minute because she was busy carrying out meals to some folks at a table. We saw those plates and knew we had come to the right place. The lunch specials were fantastic. We had arrived after the usual lunchtime so some specials were sold out. I took that as a good sign. We ordered meatloaf and the hamburger steak which were generous portions of deliciousness. Ms. Deedy made us feel right at home and she talked about her passion for cooking. She also keeps an eye out for the needy and feeds hungry folks when she sees them sending a staff outside with a bowl of rice and beans. And about those red beans. Perhaps the best I’ve had. She had used smoked bones to flavor it and they were tasty as can be. We were so full we got down the road a bit and realized we should have asked about desserts. Next time…

My 1st time ordering there, for the price $14.01 you would imagine a decent sized Styrofoam place of food! Other than that, they were friendly family. Reasonable fast service. I want be returning! It's sad because her food is rather tasty. They might want to reconsider the sizes to keep business. JS.....

We happened upon Deedy’s for dinner having just rolled into Louisiana and wanted something authentic.If you want the kind of food that you’d get from someone who really loves you, this is the place to be. Nothing fancy but a huge helping of really solid food.I had the rice & beans with pork chops along with a side of yams or sweet potatoes. My gosh, this was a monster meal. A big, big deep-fried pork chops and legit rice & beans. Lots and lots of rice & beans. Good rice and beans.But those sweet potatoes. These is the kind of dish where everybody at the church picnic makes sure that Deedy is going to be there and is going to bring lots of those incredible sweet potatoes and they’re going to be the first thing everybody goes for. And I’m not a huge sweet potato fan, but these things are a-maze-ing.My wife had the shrimp po’boy sandwich and really enjoyed that too.This place isn’t fancy and it’s like eating at your aunt’s house in that it’s casual and down home. The food is legit and the people are just friendly, especially Deedy. She cares and it shows and she has every right to be proud of what comes out of the kitchen.And I can’t wait to go back. And get a lot of that down home cooking.To explain the atmosphere it's not anything fancy but that's part of what makes this place so special. It's like being in one of your favorite aunt's home.
