Used to love driving the fam out here!! Miss that! But, maybe for the drive and price my expectations are slightly elevated. And I would prefer a little more attentiveness. Food didn’t disappoint, but didn’t blow my skirt up either. I enjoyed not having to cook the steak, but they used to be so much better than they are now. Still wouldn’t say no to going now and then, but not just looking forward to it, so to speak. And this was the same experience I had a few months...
A true old fashioned diner with excellent food. The chicken fried steak! And how do they make those green beans!? The hamburger! A long drive from shreveport but we find it worth it. Food there is not cheap, so we don't go often. Opens at 11 and closes at 2, I think
A friend and I had lunch today at Main Street Restaurant in Gilliam LA. We were driving the Sunflower Trail.
I ordered fried shrimp and my friend ordered the fried catfish. The food was excellent. Could not think of one criticism.
The atmosphere is family friendly. The service was excellent and the prices are very reasonable.
Highly recommend!
