This tasted just like New Orleans in the old days! Crackers with butter, great coleslaw, perfectly fried catfish, delicious stuffed potato, large and tasty hush puppies finished off with bread pudding. Felt like home.

This location is adjoining a Hotel. Parking can be difficult. You can also expect a wait during busy times of the day. Our family has visited Mike Anderson's (both locations) for many years. When you walk in a hostess will either seat you or take your name for the waiting list. The menu offers a nice selection of local seafood options. Chargrilled oysters are great! The staff is usually very attentive. At busy times it can take awhile for service. They also have daily specials during the week Our last visit was with a large group. Our server worked very hard but was just overwhelmed. The supervising staff was unpleasant and seemed to be aggravated. Our large group had called weeks in advance for the reservation so not sure why she was unpleasant. I ordered the black drum covered in a crab sauce. It was a total miss on this visit. Completely lacked flavor and was barely warm when it came out. Drinks were rarely refilled and had little ice. I was there for 3 hours and received one drink no refills. My three daughters also said their food was cold and flavorless. One ordered chargrilled oysters and said they were gritty and no as good as usual. Hopefully the poor food quality and overwhelmed staff was just because of our group size. The food is pricey so even in a large group I expect better.
So we went to mike Anderson's to celebrate a bday.Our waiter was Clifford and he was AMAZING. The oysters were not grilled for as long as i like them to be, and there wasn't much cheese melted on them. The fried crab claws and bacon wrapped shrimp are amazing. The house salad is really good with pepper jelly vinaigrette - if you haven't tried it, you definitely must. For my entree, I did half and half platter with the stuffed crab and shrimp. The shrimp were fried well but lacked seasoning, even with the addition of tartar sauce. We were seated in the interior patio and there was a really good duo playing this evening. I still prefer Mike Anderson's over it's competitors but tonight's meal was not to its normal standards .

I order the family pack meals to go mostly and have been pleased with food. Last time I ordered, they got the order wrong - I ordered half and half and got all shrimp, but they were swamped and short staffed. Husband waited in parking lot about 35 min after the order was supposed to have been ready. This was maybe a one time thing. Always enjoy the food, though and when we go for in dining service, have been satisfied. Again, love the food.

Great service by Destiny.. we had the crawfish pasta and it was delicious. The crab & shrimp Pattie's with the sauce was absolutely amazing. Also had a dozen chargrilled oysters.. way better than any place around the area. We are very pleased with our experience.
