Cracker Barrel Old Country Store

Very disappointed in our visit. I brought my 10 year old Granddaughter for her first visit to a Cracker Barrel. She was so excited. Our menu was on a piece of paper that had been copied and we couldn't even read it, it was so blurry. We spilt the French Toast breakfast . The French Toast was so thin and little (2 pieces), the ham slice was the size of her palm and one piece of bacon. Everything was just Okay. The Grits were the best thing on the platter. Thank goodness for her getting a "flavored milk straw" with her milk because that the best thing she enjoyed. I ordered a $5 Take home meal of the grilled chicken and mashed potatoes. On leaving, we asked to purchase some of the "milk straws" and they don't sell them in the store. For lunch we were going to split the $5 meal but it was so small only she ate it. The chicken was okay and the mashed potatoes were hard, dry and plain. I am a rewards member and was very embarrassed for Cracker Barrel.

The young lady who waited on us thursday at 5pm was so sweet and never left us waiting for anything, Wish I remenber your name, keep up the good work.

When I entered I had to wait at the hostess area for a few minutes before being noticed. The restaurant was not busy at all. It was around 3:30 in the afternoon so I was between lunch and dinner. Once the servers noticed I was standing there, several rushed over at once to help me. Everyone was very friendly, gave me a choice of where I wanted to sit and struck up a conversation with me as I was by myself this visit. I noticed the decor had been updated inside to the new white walls and less cluttered look. I commented on that since I had not been inside a Cracker Barrel yet to see the changes. The server asked me what I thought about it. I actually liked it very much. The sign had not changed at this location, just the inside. It looked terrific to me. My server was very friendly and attentive. My food came out quickly since I ordered the Thursday special but I will say, the temperature of the food was slightly cooler than I really liked and the biscuits were hard, something I have never had an issue with at Cracker Barrel so I was disappointed with that. I ended up not eating the biscuits. I also wanted to order a specific dessert to go to take back to my hotel room for later but they were completely out of it.

I used to love going to this restaurant. It was a place we always stopped on vacation and it was a treat since the nearest one to my house is 45 minutes away. We stopped at this one in the Tanger Outlet Mall. From the moment I walked in I noticed the changes. Gone were the old pictures, the old relics and memorabilia from days gone by. The essence and the ambiance of the restaurant is gone and so is this customer. It is so sad to make a change such as this. Now there is a modern feel which you can find in any restaurant except the food in this one wasn't even good. It seemed they were out of most items and the meal we were given wasn't liked and left on the table. Looks like the end of an era and if others feel the same way I do, the end of this restaurant.

Walking in the atmosphere was not warming or welcoming at all. Our server Taylor’s uniform was not cleaned and that was a turn off, nonetheless when my food came to the table the rim of the plate was nasty, and I was told that it just happened when the food was being transferred to the plate.Lastly this is unacceptable, by this time I’m ready to just walk out. Taylor (our server) never checked on us not one time, even when our food was served. Totally was disgusted and disappointed.

My husband's scrambled eggs were not cooked through. My bacon was cold. Other than that, it was good. Service was good.
