Firehouse Subs Gonzales Cabela\'s

So imma start this off with the food was great and the young lady who made it for me and everyone who came in after myself. However. I think the u young man/manager should be let go. He is absolutely useless and did nothing g the entire time I was there .... besides walk into the hallway to hit some vape by the bathrooms ... All he would do when someone came into the store was dissappear around the corner to the bathrooms. Leaving this young lady to herself in the front of the store.. im just saying as a business owner. This is unacceptable by a man/manager to leave a young girl to her self with a store of men. Everything a customer walked in he is gone.....

We were traveling, stayed in Gonzales overnight. Went to Firehouse subs. Three young people were working. Two girls and a guy. One of the girls took our order and the guy was originally making sandwiches. After we paid the girl, she went over to make the sandwiches and the guy went to the back, by the bathrooms. He came back to the front area and had clearly gotten stoned or used some other type of drug. He was slurring his words, swaying back and forth, his eyes kept closing and he kept staring at us. One of the girls made a comment about him taking too long “to come down”. It was all very uncomfortable. I almost walked out without my food.

I've been to a good bit of Firehouse subs in south Louisiana, and this one has a great staff that is always welcoming. The food has always been great. I definitely will be coming back

Only the best sandwiches in town!!! Other sub places can’t compete tbh….

The food is always awesome and the employees are awesome! Devante always does his thing. When he’s here, I know I’m getting a good sub. Marie is also great. She makes my visits spectacular! Fire subs.

I came in for an Engineer Sub and left wondering if I should nominate this place for some kind of sandwich Hall of Fame. The turkey was smoky and flavorful, the cheese melted like it was auditioning for a food commercial, and the mushrooms? Let’s just say they were sautéed to “chef’s kiss” perfection.

The staff didn’t just take my order — they made me feel welcome the second I walked in. They were upbeat, quick, and genuinely happy to be there. You can tell they work like a well-oiled (and well-fed) machine.

If you’ve never been, run — don’t walk — and prepare to be ruined for all other sub shops. Gonzales Firehouse Subs is the real MVP.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Best Firehouse Subs experience I’ve ever had!

Stopped in at the Gonzales Firehouse Subs today and ordered a New York Steamer — and man, it hit the spot. The bread was perfectly toasted, the corned beef and pastrami were stacked high and super tender, the cheese melted just right, and the mustard/mayo combo tied it all together. You can tell they actually care about making it fresh and getting it right.

What really stood out, though, was the staff. Every single person I interacted with was friendly, upbeat, and just genuinely nice. They made me feel welcome the second I walked in, and my food came out fast and piping hot. It’s the kind of service that makes you want to come back even before you’ve finished eating.

If you’re anywhere near Gonzales and craving a great sub, this is the place to go.

This was an okay place to stop for a bite to eat after shopping. They were a little slow compared to the Firehouse in Thibodaux, but they fed me.

Very fast service. Staff was friendly, and food was delicious. Firehouse Subs is a great option for a snack or a full meal.

Fantastic service and great sandwiches, with good pricing.

The restaurant is filthy, the employee wearing the cap and glasses was literally chewing on food and spitting it out where they prepare the food. The only drinks they had was I.Ced tea in a few bottles of water in a little cooler. Their solar machine is out, and there's no other drinks to buy. I love firehouse, subs, but not here. Whoever owns or manages this store needs to be fired! This place is unacceptable and really dirty. The health department department really needs to go and check this place out.

This restaurant was so dirty we decided to takeout instead of dine inside. Our shoes were sticking to the floor, the drink station is covered in syrup and spills. The air vents in the ceiling (above the food prep area) are blowing brown dust onto where the food is prepared 🤢

Good food and friendly staff. Easy to get to from I-10.
