I placed the order on your website yesterday for a meal and when we went to go pick it up, you guys were closed. I have been trying to call the number that’s online it does not work. I need my money back.
First impressions say a lot. We walked through the front door and our shoes were sticking to the floor. The floor had dirt built up from probably a year of dirty mopping. We should have left at that point, but we didn’t. Ordered all you can eat sushi. According to the menu, you can order 2 rolls and 2 slices of sashimi at a time. So get this, the server cannot reorder 2 more pieces of sashimi until you have eaten the two that are on your plate. When you order 2 more pieces of sashimi, they take their sweet time. The restaurant wasn’t busy. Honestly, it wasn’t that good. I went to the restroom, and my feet stuck to the floor the entire way. Some of the grout on the bathroom floor was light tan in color, the rest was filthy black. Matched the grime stuck to the tile. If the floors and restrooms are that nasty, couldn’t imagine the kitchen. I will never return.Btw, our server Ashlyn was outstanding.
Why bother with expensive fast food when you can have your food on a porcelain plate and eat with real forks for about the same.......Chicken katsu is basically a fried chicken breasts.....with sauce...plus fried rice and a salad or soup.Check out their lunch specials and eat with a metal fork instead of a paper wrapper.
Parking: Remember entrance is one way.
Wheelchair accessibility: Please have a heart to those disabled.....if you can walk, dont park in a handicap spot.
Out of all the restaurants I've been too, this one is by far the best experience. Amazing, welcoming staff, not to mention the amazing food. They really value their customers. Would 100% recommend to friends/family. Definitely will be coming back.
I absolutely love this place! I’ve been to a lot of hibachi places and this by far has the best sushi and hibachi. My steak and scallops were amazing and cooked perfectly on the grill I definitely recommend this place. Changes have been made and the atmosphere was very welcoming!! I wish I could give it 10 stars!
Kid-friendliness: Kids eat free on Wednesday which is amazing as well they get a ton of food for a kid!
awesome place awesome cutie waitresses and made me feel rite at home
Let me begin by saying we went on homecoming night and expected the restaurant to be busy… We called ahead just to see what the wait would be because we had 4 children all under the age of 4. They told us absolutely no wait… which was weird because it was homecoming but what do I know? I don’t work there lol so we took their word for it… we sat at hibachi at 7:30 and wasn’t informed until 8 that there was no available cook for us until 8:45. The server then proceeds to tell us she hated her job and walked away… the manager said this was NORMAL for hibachi! No mam! 30 to 45 minute wait maybe… but not a hour and fifteen minutes. All the babies were screaming crying by the time we left and only 2 people at our table got what we ordered. NEVER AGAIN WILL I WALK INTO THIS HELL OF A RESTAURANT.
Restaurantji Recommends
Food is okay and our waiter was accommodating. This restaurant is a lot MORE expensive than other competitors. The food takes FOREVER to come. Their all you can eat sushi has a limit when ordering. It takes time to receive them so you’ll get bored, hungry and annoyed from waiting. Their bathroom door looks like a kitchen door. Women’s bathroom did not have soap and the sink was clogged. Disappointed.
Sign Says Ichiban (Gonzales). Been here countless times. Always fast and exactly what I ordered. Friendly, thorough staff. Comfortable indoor seating. Stocked bar. Lots of wine options. I highly recommend the Rock and Roll sushi rolls, steak hibachi, and shrimp tempura.
TL;DR: Go to Oki Japan or Sushi Masa instead.THE GOOD:Not gonna lie. They have the best sushi selection of any all you can eat sushi place I’ve ever been to. I was excited. Our waitress was amazing.THE BAD:Hard to explain but all the sushi tasted stale even though it was made fresh. The crab, the rice, the crunchy tempura, and even the fish (?) all tasted stale or like they hadn’t been stored properly. The worst part of my meal was the smoked salmon sashimi. It was so oily and slimy that it tasted like it came from a can. We had lunch 10 hours ago and I’m already feeling sick.Another note: at the bottom of the ordering menu for the all you can eat, there is a note that says “if the server fails to properly explain the rules of all you can eat, the server is responsible for the cost of the leftover food and it will be deducted from their salary.”This is disgusting behavior & reflective of terrible management. This practice is illegal in the state of Louisiana, and frankly any business that would even consider doing this to their employees should be shunned by the community. This place seriously has the potential to be the best all you can eat sushi restaurant in the whole greater Baton Rouge area. But an all you can eat sushi restaurant’s potential is worth its weight in stale crunchy tempura. If you’re looking for a consistently good all you can eat sushi restaurant, just go to Oki Japan across the road. Less than a 5 minute drive.
Fresh food, great service, and reasonable pricing.....
Our first time here and it definitely will not be our last. The service and the food were incredible.
