Good food
Oyster and brussel sprouts so good check restaurant and support
Food and service was phenomenal!!!
The food was FYE!!! Everything came out nice and hot. The staff was really friendly and polite! I highly recommend!
The service was awful. The cornbread was overcooked and my meal was average at best. I heard the gumbo was good but I couldn't endure 3 bites. It had a layer of grease on top. Disgusting. Don't waste your money!
My sister and I are foodies and wanted to try a new place for my niece’s Bday. Reviewing the menu, a couple mentioned the crawfish beignets & gumbo were delicious so we got excited. My sister and I had appetizers, entrees, drinks and cocktails. My niece, a picky eater, ordered a shrimp platter; needless to say, EVERYTHING was delicious. My Nancy Parker salad stuffing was good - I didn’t complain in-spite of my avocado being hard. I can imagine if it were ripe, I would have eaten it all too.. The ambiance & service was wonderful. The heart of the charm came from the service. The staff was great and our food came out (seeming like minutes) after the order. If you’ve been to Emerald’s - you know what I mean when I say service - the quick turn-a-round and attention reminded me of that experience but in a more relaxing environment. Lastly, the Chef/Co-Owner came out to greet us & to our surprise, honored my niece bday by gifting her a complimentary meal when she returns. Even if it was a strategy to bring us back - we were returning anyway. In-spite of my avocado experience. I still gave it a 5 start rating. We are in a pandemic and businesses are doing as well. His kind act shoes the heart & spirit of the establishment - that was Southern Charm! . #SupportThisBusiness #Delicious #Service #SouthernCharm
Tell me the rumors aren't true that Covid-19 has bumped ya'll out of business! I just recently discovered the best secret on the Westbank. The charboiled oysters and the brussel sprouts alone would keep me coming back. And the smothered catfish was so good it made me fat with the first forkful. I was looking forward to trying a steak in my next visit. If the rumors are true, I hope it's just a temporary closure. Ya'll are just what we need on the Westbank. You are doing it right from the menu to the customer service and vibe. All good. Wishing you all the best and a speedy return.
The first thing you should know is the name "Bar and Bistreaux" does not correctly describe this establishment. The bar area is very small with one tv which most of the staff were watching taking up most of the space. Bar and Bistreaux made me think a casual atmosphere. Although it isn't white glove, it leans to the semi-formal dress. At least nice shirt and pants. I was given a pretty nasty look from the Greeter when she saw my shorts. I am an amputee and always wear shorts because of the difficulty of finding pants that work with my leg. The only reason I think she sat me was because it was Friday night and they were half empty and they couldn't be picky.Service was horrible too. I was about to get up and walk out first thing when we were not greeted by our waiter for almost 10 minutes. Come to find out he only had one other table. Our order was taken and we did not see him till our appetizers came out. In between appetizers and entree both of our drinks ran out and it was at least five minutes until he came back in to the dining room for us to wave him down. This happened again after we were serves our entrees. He just disappeared this time for almost 20 minutes. When he reappeared on the othwr side of the room and again we had to wave him down for refills and our bill. He automatically brought us to-go cups, which he may have thought was nice, but it came across as get out. They didn't need the table. As we left, as I said earlier, most of the staff including the Chef/Owner were watching the TV. We almost had to brush arms with them to walk out the door, yet we were not even recognized or thanked for coming in and spending almost $100 on a meal for two.The food was awesome, yet disappointing at the same time. I had the seafood topped portabello mushroom. The sauce and seafood were spectacular. The mushroom was rubbery and almost non-existent. It was also flatter than a pancake. Our other appetizer were the brussel sprouts covered in , I believe, was goat or feta cheese and honey. It was a good serving of sprouts that were charred nicely. The topping was maybe a tablespoon of honey and a heaping tablespoon of crumbled cheese. The couple of sprouts that actually had some honey and cheese on them were spectacular. The flavor was different, yet pleasing. The problem was there was only enough topping for two, maybe three sprouts and the last half that was used to wipe all the honey off the plate. If they cut the serving in half there still wouldn't have been enough topping to supply enough flavor for it all.I can't complain about my entree which was the seafood and pasta. Again, the flavor of the cream sauce was right on spot. Nice size shrimp and enough crab meat to taste. It was topped with four fried oysters which were very flavorable. My roommate had no qualms about his entree either. It was just a shame that for the price we paid to eat there that the service along with the attitude of the staff ruined the whole experience. Even though it is less than a five minute drive from our home we are not planning a return trip. There are several chain restaurants that would satisfy me as well that are cheaper and would satisfy me just as much, and the worst service I've ever gotten at one of them is twice as good as what we received here.

We went there on a Saturday when they were quite busy and had to wait a while to be seated. But boy was it worth it. I had the fried chicken sandwich. Let me tell you if they mass market this thing it would put both Popeyes and Chick-fi-la out of business.
Great place. Southern Charm is the kind of place you come to celebrate milestone events in your life. Though I'm sad O'Brians is gone, Southern Charm is treating this location right. It's like going over to grandma's and finding out she's been training at Le Cordon Bleu. The cocktails are perfect strength to price ratio and eveything whispers a quiet quality. A finesse.
The food was great and the servers were very friendly. I really enjoy myself. I loved that the chef talked with guest at the tables.
I ordered a Lagniappe Burger with Fries and Crawfish Cornbread Stuffing from there and it was really good. It was my first time going and it's right down the street from where I live. Staff was friendly and I didn't have to wait that long, you definitely have a new customer here
Since I had frequent O'Brein's Grille I was excite to see this location return and hoped it would become my new spot again. The place stilled had the ambiance & charm the O'Brien Grille had however It lacked in the amorous smell of good food which was nonexistent. The cornbread was served cold I had to request a hot one. The gumbo had a layer of grease on top and the seafood beignets were hard and unappetizing. The food was mediocre at best. The reason for two stars versus one star was that my meal was comp and the service was decent however it was not enough to warrant my return. I will NOT be returning.
