We were looking for a special place to celebrate a birthday and online reviews had said The Red Maple was good so we made a reservation.

Service overall was not good. Literally the day before we got a message saying that the restaurant only had two seating options available as there were other tables or we could cancel; given the late notice we chose the wine rooms. While private, it was also secluded so if we needed anything we would have to go and get the staff since there were infrequent checkups.

To add insult to injury, the food was not that great. We had the spinach casserole to start followed by the catfish, shrimp and hamburger. while portion size was decent, flavor and taste quality were lacking.

overall poor service and average to below average food made this a disappointing experience

Attended a meeting in a private room. Only appetizers were served but they were all delicious! It's an old restaurant, since the 60s, lovely outdoor eating with trees and water feature. Will definitely go back!

One of the best experiences...from server, ambience, and food! 10 out of 10... Owners were very delightful!

A great spot where locals love to go. Casual yet elegant. Friendly bar with delicious drinks. The wine room allows for talking among your party comfortably. Lots of dishes to share, variety or order individually and doesn't break the bank. As usual, we ate too much and had a wonderful time with friends.

Went to check out this spot in Gretna after hearing about it for years. Food was good, though they were all out of strip steaks by 7:15pm. Biggest disappointment was the service. Server kept trying to make jokes with us that just weren’t funny or appreciated. Completely unacceptable for a +$200 dinner.

Lose the sweet potato souffle or at least offer an alternative. Don't let the souffle pumpkin pie spice mix with other foods. Season the veal/breading with salt, pepper, Italian bread crumbs, etc. The parmesan crab claws and Redfish Pontchartrain were superb.

Brent was the best waiter ever! Food was exceptional, as always. I love this place. Perfect choice for our anniversary dinner!

Great food, great service, feels like family every time and Ms. Carroll is the absolute best host and makes everyone feel warm and welcomed.

My first experience but not for my date. We enjoyed a wonderful night; the service was exemplary and the steaks were prepared exactly as we wished! More visits are definitely in our future to this home town favorite!

What a wonderful experience. There is street parking and a lot across the street to park. They have a variety of seafood, but I got a steak and it was delicious. My son said it was the best seafood gumbo he's ever eaten. We really enjoyed the charcoal oysters as well. The drinks were delicious and our server was very kind and helpful.

My family and I had a wonderful experience. It's a beautiful restaurant, with a pleasant atmosphere and attentive and respectful staff. The birthday decoration board was beautiful; it made us very happy.

Lovely old-school Westbank staple with excellent service, very good food and cocktails for reasonable prices.

Nice family owned place in Gretna. Friendly professional staff. Clean comfortable dining space. Food was good. $15 cocktails. Bread and butter yummy.
