This place has a sister restaurant up the road called Hen House. I was recommended here to Toast Gretna by the owners and workers from Hen House because they shut down restaurant operations to fully support their King Cake Operation.
Awesome little homey restaurant with very friendly and helpful staff. Perfect brunch spot for the morning and early afternoon. I ordered black coffee and the ratatouille omelette with a side of bacon. It was delicious. Next time i am gonna try the steak and eggs on their entrees menu. Everything was reasonably priced. Dining room was well lit and clean. Unisex bathroom with changing table for the little ones was also clean! Cant wait to come back!

This is a great place to eat and enjoy the atmosphere. I often frequent this eatery and have spoken to management on three different occasions. The issue is that every single time I’ve come the dishes are always dirty with dried food stuck on. Glasses have water spots which I don’t mind but they too have dried food on them. The coffee is never hot even though I ask for hot coffee. And the details are always ignored (they ask what type of jelly or something pertaining to the order) and they always forget. I’ve tried to give them several chances but even though the food is great I’m going to have to take a break and bring my money else where.

Both of my experiences at Toast were delicious, visually satisfying, and filled with unexpected surprises-good ones. I highly recommend the ratatouille. Their take on the dish is tomato forward and soo hearty! The only reason I didn’t give the service five stars is because we weren’t checked on enough by the wait staff or they weren’t easy to flag down while seated on the back patio. I do feel like that was due to how busy it is there and for good reason. The play area is a must people with young children.

The hostess does not know how to do her job. We went in with an open mind since it was our first time there. We walked in she asked how many and we told her two. She said it would be 30 minutes. She mentioned the had a back patio so we went to grab a drink while we waited (there was no open seats at the bar). At this point we’re probably about fifteen minutes into waiting. I look at my phone and I revived a text message saying “ Your table is ALMOST READY at Toast Gretna! Please come to Host Stand to check in. You can Text 2 if you are On The Way or 3 if Canceling. Thank you! Enjoy <3“ I go to the host stand as she said it was too late i didn’t check in on time. That if I wanted to I could go back on the wait list. I was taken back because she had said 30 minutes not 10 minutes. At this point another lady come right behind me and had the same issue at this point we left.
