It’s a shame the owners let the employees take the phone off the hook so you can’t call in a to go order!! We refuse to drive there and place an order then wait for the food after they admit they take the phone off the hook to not be bothered with to go orders ! This has been going on for over a year or more. Can’t find good help these days

My first time order here the rice was good. Whoever is cooking now is terrible. Food has no season taste plan and is a waste of money i dont even want to eat it. Need to drop those prices down cause that food taste like buffet level food. Its bad when u have to recook food and make it

It was the first time I’d been there in over a decade. My fiancé and I stopped in for dinner. We started with an order of fried wantons and they were just perfect. Them he had the sweet and sour shrimp, which he said was very good. I had the mandarin chicken with the gravy served on the side. The chicken seemed a bit over cooked, to me, and was slightly hard to chew. When our server asked how things were, I told her it was good, but I was a bit disappointed in the doneness of the chicken. I wasn’t even trying to send it back but she immediately picked the plate up and returned it to the kitchen. Within minutes, she returned with a fresh plate of chicken, lightly fried, and it was amazing…just the way I remembered it from years ago. The pork fried rice was better than any other restaurant for miles around. I had forgotten how similar China Lotus was to Trey Yuen, a Chinese restaurant that is no longer open in Hammond, but was a favorite of many when it was (I miss it so much!!). I can honestly say I’ll be back but I’ll order during lunch hours instead of dinner because the dinner menu is a little pricey. Well worth it, but pricey. The service was excellent!! I couldn’t ask for a more polite, attentive server. The entire experience was way beyond our expectations.

People giving high reviews must have never had real Chinese food before. We hardly ate anything! The restaurant is filthy. The waitress was rude. Kept hovering...don't stand there watching over me! I don't understand brown country gravy in chinese food...lolThe duck sauce was NOT duck sauce...it was like dyed vinegar ....gross!Never ever again!!
The food is always exceptional!!! Spring rolls(fried eggrolls) are tasty. Sesame chicken is the very best!!! Shrimp fried rice is good.

Big Boss Lo Mein....get it! Listen, just order anything, you won't be sorry. Trust me on thisUpdate: try the Asian pan fried fish. Once you do that, order it using shrimp instead of fish. Both versions are so delicious! I normally get mine with vegetable lo mein using the Big Boss noodles instead. It's so delicious and the portions allow me to have 2 meals. The won ton soup is very good as is the wor won ton soup.
